by not at least going 8-4 or 9-3? We thought West Virginia might even go 11-1 or 10-2 and win the Big East. Besides the respect/benefit of the doubt that those wins would have given us will the pollsters, I'm really interested in the computer math. Would we have been able to jump Boise and/or TCU with a win over Arkansas? Would we only need 1 of Oregon or Auburn to lose to jump up in the NCG? It would make tomorrow and Saturday fun as the frick. Oh well, they'll still be pretty sweet.

The 'eers still have a chance to go 9-3 and win the BE. They need some help, but they should be able to beat Pitty and Rutgers in their final games.

Well, maybe if we had blown out those two teams like we should have, the human voters wouldn't be so down on us.

imo you shouldn't go to the national title if you can't even win your conference. let alone not even your side of the conf

From the B11, your thoughts in this mean nothing. Seriously the Big11 has two teams with identical records, but the team that won the head to head it not going to win your conference. How fricked up is that.

Per my brother in law they need UCONN to lose. I proceded to rag him for 20 minutes about the possibility of UCONN going to a BCS bowl and representing the Big East.

Let me know when the SEC has two 11-1 teams that didn't play each other.

Don't forget that Boise State took a big hit when Virginia Tech lost to James Madison. Having said this, I think there should be another component added to the computers. Teams have no idea how good a team will be at the time they agreed to play them (LSU didn't know that North Carolina would have multiple players ruled ineligible), but they should be rewarded for at least attempting to schedule tough opponents. How about taking a team's most recent BCS ranking or Coaches' Poll ranking on the date they signed the contract and adding it to a team's BCS ranking in the year they actually play? For example, Oregon was ranked 8th in the Coaches' Poll on September 7, 2010, the day they agreed to play each other next year. With this new BCS formula, LSU would get an additional component added to its score next year in addition to the normal components.

No worse than we screwed ourselves by not being prepared to play Auburn or by letting WV,TN,Ole Piss and other teams hang around with a chance to beat us on the last drive!!

west virginia can still go 9-3....hopefully nc can get to 7-5 today......providing tenn and ulm win today, lsu will have played 9 bowl eligible teams....compared to two for oregon.....just wow.....and oregon has a better schedule than tcu and boise...lol......

the team that screwed us was south carolina.....had they lost to bama, then we may still have a shot at the seccg....and also it would have been an even bigger win for lsu over bama.....imo.

yeah....how dare lsu lose to the best team in the country (of course they are corrupt and cheated) by 7 points on the road and go 11-1....lol.....imagine if the nfl based their champion like that...lol.......it's a joke. Oregon has a joke schedule, and boise and tcu are below oregon's...just maybe that has a little to do with the undefeated seasons??lol....and espn is at it again pumping up nevada like they are a legit very good team....check out their schedule this year.....ONE BCS team they played and that was cal with a losing record....just wow.........nevada probably would not be bowl eligible in the SEC...and i'm totally serious.
