wow factor? this "wow factor" is meaningless. I don't want a QB with wow factor. I want one that can lead the team and throw complete passes. win games.

well, we know that isnt AJ based off last season.

Agreed. That is what catches my ear. For him to flip and say these things really gets me excited about what we may all get to witness this year. Hopefully something that I will find myself talking about to my grand kids years from now. I think we are poised to see something special happen this year!

Interesting comments that also came out on my drive:

-Talking about Ole Miss was also they were also impressed with the athletic ability of this team. However, they didn't see an ability to establish a running game and with unknown at qb made it difficult to pick them to win the West. Their biggest beef with Ole Miss is the lack of a true running game under Freeze

-Talking about Texas A&M, were impressed with the athletes on the field on offense. Said they played fast and could seem them leading the conference in totals. NOT ONE MENTION OF THE DEFENSE.

I truly think the narrative flows this way because outside of the 1 year wonder in Mettenburger, we haven't shown to develop the position. Year 3 under Cam with 2 years with these qbs will change that narrative IMO.

They are going off our past transgressions and not on what we have now.

This is very true. Even to the point that we, as fans, believe it.
Look at the hype around Jeremy Johnson.
Auburn automatically thinks their QB will be good because they've had good QBs.
Brandon Harris put up more yards and 5 more touchdowns than JJ in comparable time.
But most are not even close to "sold" because we've had bad QBs.
It all changes this year.
Harris, Franks, Dinkelman (sp?), and beyond.. QBU.

You are not kidding. That dude hates on LSU frequently.

I also think the one start for Brandon Harris and the absolute shite show that was his performance weighs on people's minds. They forget his was a true freshman on the road against a good team.

Not to mention the quick start by Auburn put a ton of pressure on Harris to get the offense going.

This start has people shaky about his ability, I see it as an outlier in his career.

That's what I consider BS analysis. Look at the players, not the history. Look at the QB coach, not the history. We didn't have a QB coach from 2007-2012. You think that maybe had something to do with it media knuckleheads?

Cam needed a year to realize that he's not dealing with guys that have been through it. He didn't get that from Mett. He hasn't coached kids under 20 in 12 years prior to being here and hadn't coached kids under 20 with pretty much no game experience to be a starter in a pro style offense, since the late 90s.

I expect things to be much better, not just a little better. I expect mistakes, but with Harris, I expect an explosive offense.

Can't disagree with their thoughts on this either. I can't seem to muster up a whole lot of worry about either of those two teams when it's time for our Tigers to take the field against them.

I'll probably get some disagreements on this one. But my worry game is Arkansas. We'll see as the year goes on how we stand against the run. We get that squared away and my worry will be for not.

To be fair LSU has lost the benefit of the doubt and those schools have earned theirs. 2 good years of Harris and then Franks or McMillian or Etling or whoever can change the narrative on that easily.

Ole Miss only had Bo Wallace. You think Bo Wallace means they should get BOTD? I guess I can understand UGA at QB, but they have no known good WRs except for Mitchell who has been injury prone, and not the best out on the field. I can't see it from Bama this year. They don't have the luxury of an established WR. They don't have a Julio Jones or Marquis Maze or Amari Cooper waiting in the wing. They don't have that super dominant OL. They are still looking at several guys this year at QB a week before the first game.

I don't think they really reflected on this area because they were enamored by the running backs.......my question was open ended and they spend a good 3 minutes talking about the running backs. They spent about 4-5 minutes in total before taking another caller but the majority of their response was about this group.
