Actually I never understood the whole LSU/ULL house divided thing. I guess I interpret those plates from a sports view point, and comparing LSU to ULL is really silly.
LSU/AU house divided makes much more sense...save the geography difference. I never see AU/UAB House Divided plates, and I guess that is the closest comparison I would expect to see.

Just today I saw a "House Divided" license plate on the front of a Yukon with LSU\Southern ..
