A group of four bachelors are going to Baton Rouge for the Florida game. When in college we never had to worry about booking a hotel room because we lived there. It's been years since then and we make a trip every year to a game and before this year we used to get free rooms but not anymore. Any suggestions of where to stay that's close to tiger stadium and where you don't get caught in the wrong direction with contraflow after the game?

This doesn't exist.

Narnia perhaps.

Stay at a casino or hotel downtown, with a shuttle.

I would stay someplace in the north part of Baton Rouge. To maximize your dollar, I would stay at a hotel that charges by the hour (that way you don't have to pay for time you are not at the hotel). I would just search on Yahoo or Bing for some of these hotels.

Just stay where you used to get free rooms.

I like the hotels around College Drive and 1-10. Marriott, Holiday Inn, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Crown Plaza, Chase Suite Hotel (on Corporate) and Homewood Suites (on Corporate). Both Chase and Homewood are cheaper and bigger rooms. You can stay downtown, but will pay more. Most of these hotels may be booked. Alternatively, you can stay around the Mall of Louisiana and probably get an even lower rate, but you drive about 5 miles further. Probably also have availability. If you can stay (afford it and it is available) at L'Auberge Casino hotel, I would definitely stay there.

I know a lot of the hotels here in town require a 2 nite stay, and many book up early as noted, so I'd get one locked up yesterday. Consider, too, that this game usually brings in a lot of gator fans, so rooms may be extra hard to find.
