Stayed there last year for Ole Miss game. It's close, cheap and offers quick on/off freeway access. Literally was there to sleep and that's it.

Other than housekeeping stealing a damn nice pair of my boots I didn't have any issues with it. Mgmt did comp our room and offered us an additional night free (still have the voucher).

I have stayed there a few times after games...and have to say that as far as convenience is concerned, it is just about the easiest hotel to get to in the clusterfrick of traffic after the games. just park in one of the free lots along the levee and head up river road when done...you will be in the hotel in a few minutes.

flip side is, the hotel is kind of crappy...not terrible, but just run down and has kind of a ghetto clientelle. I didn't feel unsafe, but not a pleasant stay at all...

I have also stayed at the Drury, which is pretty darn good....it is a little farther out from campus, but a good place to stay that most folks don't consider because it typically does not show up on expedia.

I would recommend the Drury or any of the hotels on constitution out by the interstate...there is a crowne plaza, embassy suites, etc. out there and lots of resturants, etc around the area. there is also a courtyard at acadian that is pretty good as well...

if you have questions about any particular hotel or resturant in the area, just ask...after 15+ years of season tickets, I have pretty much stayed at them all...

This is a perfect summary.

They've lost multiple mastheads over the years for terrible neglect of the property, hygiene, cleanliness, customer service, or any thought paid towards conducting a service-oriented business.

We recommended an out of town group to stay at Lod Cook last year once we realized all of our blocks were booked. Called to check each but them. Even if they weren't full I wouldn't punish or push folks I have a biz or friendly relationship with there.

Last year during the weekend of a downtown event, someone I know complained to the GM over delayed drink and food orders in their bar in the atrium lobby while they refused to pull in additional bar staff or servers to assist.

After complaining he was told by their management that an expectation of higher quality service was more than they were capable of providing. Seriously.

It is an annual occurrence of them overbooking and canceling confirmed rooms, and no effort is made to place guests elsewhere. I last stayed there when they cancelled two rooms on me, and the first night of my stay I had an iPhone 3G stolen from me.

They overcharged me after I left, wouldn't change the charges until I appeared in person ready to melt down like the Chinese Stock Market. When I was promised a suite with a biz card of the Reservations Manager and the GM the next year comped, they couldn't find my reservation when I called to confirm (having been burned once) a few weeks before our event the next year. Appearing in person to explain I watched the Reservation Manager enter the suite reservation myself the year before did zero good.

I vowed never to give them a penny of my money. This indirectly helped Indigo, Hilton and Hampton thrive.

I have had fantastic exeperiences at Hotel Indigo. We had 10 rooms, under 10 names, each with separate check in times and days. They handled it with zero issues. They're a well oiled machine. They also handle special requests and guests with ease, and lastly...they have a animal mascot that lives there which is awesome. LOL.

I have had personal dealings with Allison at Hampton Inn and she is also very easy to work with and professional. Hilton is corporate but they are professional and good.

But Belle? Don't make that mistake.

You'll find better rooms near 28th and Gracie.
