I have MS State friends coming in for Saturday's game & the only hotel they could get was the Hilton Garden Inn on Harding Blvd near Veteran's Memorial Blvd. I profess that I haven't been anywhere near that area since I was a student at LSU.

What is the area like? Everything else seemed to be booked, but they were concerned about the area & what it's like.

Dude - you don't want to stay there.

Try other outskirts - Port Allen, Denham Springs, Gonzales. There's also Best Western's in Plaquemine and Donaldsonville that would be safer.

Yeah, that's in bumfrick by the Airport. Should be a large contingent of the Jaguar Nation staying there if Southern is at home this weekend.

Thanks everyone. I suspected it wasn't the best area. I suggested the Holiday Inn Express in Port Allen or someplace in Denham Springs if they can find a room. I appreciate the help.

They just built a new hotel on Oneal Lane at I-12. I can't remember the name of it.

there are quite a few decent hotels on hwy 30 in gonzales. it would be a straight shot to/from the game and then right by interstate when they go home.
