why on those rare occasions that we throw the ball is it generally thrown parallel to the line of scrimmage instead of down field. Yardage is gained in football by advancing the ball vertically and not so much horizonally. Not only does it not gain yardage but opponents seem to be in on it and seem to know it is our tendency.

LSUs passing "attack" last year was almost entirely vertical...

Wait I thought everyone complained that all we ever did was throw it deep?

I can't keep up anymore

It wasn't too many years ago 0 yard passes to the WRs resulted in big gains for LSU. Doesn't seem to happen often now.

But they are low risk passes. I'm guessing thats the main reason.

LSU had at least two long completions, one other that was wrongly ruled incomplete, and one for a TD that was called back on a penalty.

there is a whole wide open field of space that exists between the deep ball and the parallel pass. You wouldn't know it existed if you strictly watched LSU offense football.

We threw it everywhere when we had a veteran QB that Miles trusted.

If Harris keeps making good decisions, Miles will open it up more.

Ok, so when Harris is a senior we might possibly start exploring other areas of the field. Sounds good to me.
