Well said. I’ll add to that list running backs that are all talented and can be rotated to keep them fresh as well as the best secondary in college football.

At the end of the day LSU has more experience and depth which will make the difference.

A little off topic here but what is up with Austin ? I used go there a lot on business and was a great fun city. Now it reminds me of San Francisco. Homeless all over and has gotten dirty. A damn shame what has happened. Friends there now say it is the leftists running the city. Hate bringing up politics on his discussion but got a call from a friend there last night to talk about the game and he brought it up. Hate seeing it. My brother lives about 20 minutes outside Austin and said he had to move to get away from all that crap Geaux Tigers ! 42-17

Advice in case you stick around and start more threads: 1) No need for the qualifier “honest” in your title. We assume all questions are honest unless otherwise proven. 2) Ask your question in the title. “Why are you so confident you win this game so easily?” would have been a much better title.

To answer your question “honestly,” I think a lot of LSU fans are a little delusional. Much like a lot of your fan. That’s what makes us fans. I don’t expect to roll into DKRM and dominate what I expect to be a pretty Texas team.

That said, we have a really, really good defense that is deeper and more healthy than any we’ve had since that great ‘11 team. And an offense that appears to be more effective and efficient than anything we’ve really ever seen. And more explosive (big plays) than anything most of us have seen save for the ‘13, ‘06, and ‘01 teams that all featured huge arm QBs throwing to multiple 1st and 2nd rounders at WR and a record-setting Biletnikoff winner.

We also have an unusually mature punt returner who appears to be on his way to being an all-time great who is always one cut away from flipping the field or taking it to the house.

Finally, we are a very veteran team (everywhere except CB), with multiple upperclassmen at every level of the defense, the OL, WR, and probably most importantly, at QB. Burrow carries himself with a quiet, but demonstrative, confidence that is infectious. Our defense has a swag not seen, again, since 2011. Simply put, we feel this LSU team is not simply really good, but special.

However, like most fans, we are infinitely more knowledgeable about our own team than any other, especially one out of conference that we don’t see every year. People have convinced themselves they know your personnel—and some might—but it’s typically on a much more superficial level than we know our own. Obviously. You’ll see some us say your defense sucks because it wasn’t great last year and you lost 8 starters. Well, replacing 8 starters on a not so good defense with much more talented players (Herman has recruited very well) seems to me to be a good thing, save for the lack of experience.

You are also guilty by association (whether fair or not) from a lot of our fans by playing in the Big 12, which most of our fans consider “soft” because of type of offenses most teams run and the fact that OU has run that conference so long that you don’t have those physical battles every week that toughen you up. And there’s the whole “tea-sipper” reputation your fan base has that our fans think is reflected on your team , and they don’t expect you to have a significant home field advantage.

I personally don’t think this particular Texas team is soft, but it’s certainly not as battle-tested as LSU. That may or may not be a factor. I think our fans—on a whole—don’t respect Ellingher as much as they should. I’ve watched him several times and dude is a tough s.o.b. baller—I’m not underestimating his ability to make some big plays, especially on 3rd downs to extend drives.

All that said, I think we win, but don’t think it will be as easy as a lot of our fans do. If we happen to dominate, I think that points less to y’all “sucking” and much more to us being really fricking good and on our way to a very special season.

I’d say good luck, but frick you, frick Texas, especially frick Tom Herman, Horns down, kiss my arse, kiss his arse, go frick your self and

I’m not. I think LSU will win. But I’m not super confident. I’m not a coach O fan. And I am a Herman fan. But if it comes down to talent on the field I don’t see how anyone can argue that LSU isn’t better.
That may not be the case in three years but it’s certainly the case right now.

How? Forget him turning down the LSU gig, but he’s such a weird, gimmicky, cry-baby, unlikable douche. I honestly can’t imagine anybody liking him save for the fans of the team he currently coaches. Almost all of the shine he had a few years ago has evaporated now that we’ve actually seen him in the spotlight. He is such a chode.

I think our defense will stifle your offense effectively.

On the other hand, I still have serious reservations about our o-line. Looking at the GASO game again, it looked like they were playing in mud. IF they do manage to give JB time to throw, I do think the LSU receivers will beat your secondary consistently.

Kyler Murray from OU was the first pick in the draft so yes he went in the first four rounds.

Other than Tua LSU has fared very well against the top QBs. We beat Fromm last year as did Texas. We beat Stidham...patriots back up. Two years in a row.

Is this years Texas team as good as Georgia, Florida, and Auburn. Probably somewhere in between Auburn and Florida.

It will be a fight to the finish.

Pretty average LSU team beat Mahomes and Texas Tech in a blow out. This LSU team is much better than that one.

Yes this Texas team is better than that TT team but Ehlinger is not better than Mahomes

This LSU team has depth and playmakers all over the field. Last years LSU team was short handed and hampered by injuries across the board.

The 6 6” Texas receiver will be tough. He will be going up against two NFL corners. The slot guy possibly will have more freedom
