Do you think the problem was House?

House, we had talent. The schemes were terrible. Perkins should have been a spy the whole year. Play calling lacking.

The fact they just continued to do things that didn't work over and over. If you've already given up 7/9 on 3rd and long... why the hell wouldn't you try something different? Worst case scenario is you give up another 40 yards to a slow white dude like usual.

Agreed but the young inexperienced talent in our secondary was an Achilles's heel for us.

I would say lack of talent had there been obvious attempts to change things up that did not work.

That's not really what we saw for the majority of the year.

I remember one series in the A&M game that convinced me it’s the coach, not the players.

I believe it was A&Ms second touchdown drive. 1st and 10, #2 for LSU gets in the backfield and it’s now 2nd and 12. #2 gets in the backfield again and it’s now 3rd and 11. On 3rd down I see #2 walking off the field. WHY!!! That’s 100% a coaching issue.

Let’s be honest, some of our fans are always going to blame the talent because it’s easier to replace a player than fire a coach but the truth is this is 100% on House.

They had a 7th yr guy in Sam. A 4th yr guy in burns. A 3rd yr guy in sage. A 3rd year guy in Alexander. You could say the talent was lacking but not the experience

Exactly, we had 9 players in the 2nd and 3rd levels that had started or played between 29-50 games prior to this season. Inexperience is not a valid argument.

It was a total clusterfrick.
BK should refund LSU every cent wasted on House this season. And if he wants to keep that POS bum, take it out of next year's $10 million check. If LSU has another double-digit win season, give it back to him.

100% on House.

No way in hell you can blame “talent”.
Even if we played our 2nd and 3rd string only, we should bottom out at “average”.

This defense was due to piss poor schemes and play calling. Very evident when House was relieved of his play calling in the 2nd half of the A&M game.

House was definitely the problem. While this was not the most talented group of players we have ever had, even if considered sub par, they were way more talented than the results achieved. Scheme was the problem. Linebacker play was absolutely the worst I have ever seen at LSU. Virtually no improvement until the last half of the last game. Many other teams would have loved to have had the talent we had on defense.

It was mainly scheme issue. Although Cooks and Steeples were not helping. But I would be okay with having the same players with all new defensive coaches. It was bad and refused to make adjustments.

Honestly? From what I see here NONE of you know jack shite about why our defense was subpar. Schemes? What do y'all know about schemes? The coaches I have talked to about this just laugh. Once again "schemes" mean nothing if don't have the right people to run a "scheme". A little example of what i am talking about. Lou a retired coach told me this when I asked him about Perkins and why we played so much zone. He said we had to play zone more because of the youth and skill sets of the young CB's and safeties. He said Perkins played more like a safety out of need and in his view helped.

Firing House is a freaking simpletom answer. Stop acting like you know more the BK makes you look stupid.
