Hey LSU fans, hog fan here. My wife surprised me for my birthday and got me tickets to the Arkansas @ LSU game this year. I couldn't be more excited. I've never experienced Death Valley before, and hoping it's a great game. Just excited to be able to experience gameday, and hoping it's a night game.

Would love to hear recommendations from you all. My wife and I will get into NOLA Friday night, and will drive into BR fairly early depending on game time. Would love any recommendations for BR, whether it's a restaurant or a tailgate, or anything.

Appreciate you all!

Chimes off campus is pretty good, been a couple of years since I've been to BR but thats been a spot we stop at.

Also really like Parrains, only been there once but we got a nice little spread

Hope you enjoy your time

I would just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. Chimes is always a good place to start your day off since it’s right near campus. The parade grounds are nice but that’s where we have Greek life/ fraternities set up so you may get a little more heckling than usual if you’re over there, but it’s just students mainly. Mostly everyone around you will be friendly and offer you food/drink if you’re the same. The PMac (Basketball arena) is always popular, and Mikes habitat is right there so you could stop by that. Hope that was some help, enjoy your visit

Like the other poster mentioned, Parrains is really good. We’d go there every time we went to a game.

As far as a tailgate, wear your gear and expect some friendly ribbing, it’s all in good fun. Walk up to a tailgate and explain it’s your first time, you’ll be welcomed and offered tons of food and drinks.

Take the “tiger bait, tiger bait, tiger bait!” stuff with a smile and you’ll have an awesome time.

Welcome.

I like out of the way old school joints, not usually near campus:
Jay Bar B Que- started in the 50’s. Unique sauce. Sandwiches are steam heated
Roman’s- Mediterranean food that is fashioned for a LA audience
Louie’s- near campus, great burgers. Their hash browns are really breakfast potatoes and are excellent
George’s- for good bar food. Closed after the owner died. Don’t know if his kids ever reopened.

Walk around and strike up conversations and ask what the tailgaters are cooking. Most are eager to share.

Do not be offended when many are barbecuing whole hogs! It is the order of the day!

Louisiana Lagniappe if you want seafood.

ETA: if you downvoted this, you've never been to Louisiana Lagniappe.

We are going up to Arkansas for a game this year, looking forward to it. Son picked up an offer so we’re very interested in the atmosphere for a Gameday. Going up for Ms State…so it should be a good one.

Congrats! Fayetteville over Starkville should be a no-brainer!

His other offer is in Oxford, but we’re revisiting Gainesville before heading up your way.

Dagger to my heart... I tend to think you're right... hoping enough teams lose in weeks 1-3 so that the hogs jump into the top 25... gives it a better chance of a night game.

Disagree. Look at the SEC slate that day. I think this is almost a lock for a night game. Hogs should be 3-0. LSU as well if we can get past FSU this Sunday. OM/Bama will be the 2:30 CBS game

Beautiful up there for sure. They have a good thing going.

Coaches there seem to communicate better amongst themselves than the other places we’ve experienced.
