QBs are only good if they have somewhat of a big head.

Miles cannot deal with players who have a big head.

Therefore, LSU fans have to watch the most boring and frustrating elite-level talent team in the country.

Russell Shepard isn't as good as anyone ever thought he was

He was as good of a high school spread option QB as everyone thought he was. He absolutely could have been used as a change of pace QB here and made an impact.

Regardless the OPs point stands. Les recruited that young man as a QB and it failed. He probably never had any intention to play him at QB.

He was a system QB. He is pretty much Nick Marshall. It's the same reason why UGA switched Marshall to a DB. Now in a system like Gus' or at Oregon, or Arizona, or under Meyer, he could thrive.

Which was my point. In a spread option offense, it's very possible Shepard could have been good if not great.

But forcing a sphere into a square hole doesn't work so we just moved him around to try and get him on the field with our coach's lack of creativity.

Just think, if Pat White came here under Miles (or hell, Saban) he would have never played QB and we would have missed out on one of the best QBs in NCAA history.

you mean from 2007. If you don't think JJ was a terrible QB then you should get your head looked at.

Good God.

Jennings was a MID 4-star and Rettig a HIGH 4-star.

What I still don't understand is how any scouting website could have classified a guy like Jenning's as "Pro Style" when he can't hit the side of the barn?

This thread should wake up LSU fans. Wow.

And considering the QBs that played best under Miles, J. Russell, Matt Flynn, and Mett, were NOT recruited out of high school by Miles' coaching staff.

This is utterly mind boggling.

LOL

still laughing at this one.

Lil Rivers had no business being on scholarship at a supposedly elite SEC school.

goes to show you how piss poor QB evals have been performed by the staff during the miles tenure.

But we also averaged 39 points a game until JJ came back

After Jefferson regained the starting role, we scored:

42
52
41 (against #3 Arkansas)
42 (against #12 UGA)

The only game we didn't route was Alabama in the NC and we all saw how Lee fared against the Tide in the first game.
