But seriously, thanks for watching.

I watched the 6 pm news last night, one spot on TM/LSU/McNeese combo thing going over this exact info and Sam's sportsperson of the week with Josh Q which I enjoyed Josh getting some pub as he's a really good guy. Prob lasted a total of 3 minutes. Then of course you went to commercial before coming back for a last look at the weather which had thoroughly been covered only 5 min before. Then as usual I went to George Faust on TV10 for the rest of the sports. How can you defend your segment yesterday as a professional sportscast?

Is this a serious question or just a long-winded way of telling me I suck?

It's a serious question. The majority of the the posters on here seem to like you so I'm willing to give you a chance and have you explain the sportscast last night.

Dude he doesnt decide the length of the sportscast. He only gets the time they provide him.

Drew are you going to be at the westlake scrimmage today?

Here is last night's 10pm Mathieu update.

Here is Sam's story on how social media is driving the Mathieu saga.

And here is part of a recent sportscast that was, judging from the feedback I received, either the greatest sportscast in KPLC's history or a disgrace of such magnitude that the inventor of the television came back from the dead and then killed himself.

I'm still not sure what you want me to explain, but I get 3:30 at 6 and 10. I did 45 seconds on the Mathieu-LSU latest, 45 seconds on the McNeese practice without Mathieu, and 30 seconds summarizing the latest actual facts we had. That left 1:30 for Sam's package on the athlete of the week.

How, in your estimation, should a professional sportscast have been different?

Guess I figure a sportscast should encompass more than 3:30 of 30 minutes of a newscast to properly report the sports. I will continue to turn the channel to get my sports and if you did not know the local HS football teams were starting their scrimmages today that explains why you will probably never have more than 3:30. Good luck to you!

Thinking I suck is fine, you have plenty of company.

But you realize I have zero control over how much time I get during the news, right?

Do you get mad at Verne Lundquist when your TV goes out?

Not all viewers care about a HS scrimmage, there is plenty of time to see the HS highlights etc. The TM story is huge and why so much time has been given to that story. You'll tune in again to see HS football scores when the season starts. I always like the Sulphur/Barbe rivalry and have many friends on both sides of the field. Good luck to yall this yr. Go Bucs!!!

Its at 630 tonight in westlake and also sam houston plays tonight too. Would be good to fill the 10 sportscast with mostly hs sports. Its what many want to see around here. Also with melvin jones playing for wm and jacory washington playing for westlake who are both four star products there will be a lot of local interest in how they look.
