They did flavor of the month last time. We ll see how he does.

That said I'm glad they're not in our league.

Additionally I want to add that in my opinion Texas s struggles have little to do with their coaches and everything to do with them now having to compete with A&M, Tech, recent upstarts like Baylor and TCU and now Houston and of course LSU stealing Houston players every year.

They used to own Texas. Now it's a dog fight every year. This is not a coincidence.

There's a decent chance that Saban would have been a bust at Texas. That place is a steaming morass full of incompetence and meddling.

You must not have paid attention to his 2 years at Houston and his time as a coordinator at Ohio State

That's a possibility with literally every head coaching hire. There's always a risk/reward. The potential reward with Herman is HUGE. He also could lead Texas to a level of dominance they haven't seen in decades. He's one of the most respected offensive minds in the game and has had tremendously successful offenses literally everywhere he's been. He's extremely intelligent, hungry, hard-working and has done some great things recruiting at Houston in a short time.

But yes, he could be a bust.

I bet he won't be as big of a bust as Charlie Strong was.

Or at Texas State, Rice or Iowa State. He's been money literally everywhere he's gone.
