Les Miles is in over his head. He was able to keep the wheels on Saban's truck long enough to pull out some nice seasons, but he is not the guy who is going to maintain this program at an elite level.

So it doesn't matter what Miles screws up, etc. As long as he wins. Then why make the thread? Damn, you're fricking dumb. You talk about shite he did wrong and then you say that shite doesn't matter as long as he wins. Results, results, results.. derp derp derp. I say 10 wins over the course of a season is fantastic. What say you?

Jump off a bridge my man.

re: Time to rank the SEC coaches (Posted on 1/8/08 at 10:42 p.m. to tiger20)

If you compare the Miles' numbers against any other SEC coach this is simply not a discussion. You can compare his numbers with any coach in the nation and the only one who you can argue is definitivley better is Carrol.

Oh frick boom

Here's the thing.. the OP needs to realize that football is cyclical. For whatever reasons few teams stay a major power for more than a decade.

We'll be back asap.

How in the world did Miles reach this sort of decision?

That's the problem with Miles. He doesn't really "reach" decisions. He just wanders aimlessly not knowing his arse from a hole in the ground until things happen that dictate what he does next. He's just a complete buffoon. Fortunately, we aren't likely to have to deal with him for much longer. The end of the 2012 season, at the very latest, is the end of his career at LSU.

Bama is pretty solid. McCarron, Simms. Now, they have the Ely commitment. Much much better than LSU's. Right now the QB for the future at LSU is not on campus yet and has the label of "project" anyway.
So their QB situation is better than ours because they will be starting a Sophomore or Freshman next year while we have a Senior? Our QB for the future is one of JJ/JL. They have 2 more seasons to play. Bama will be breaking in a new QB next year and it will either be a Sophomore, a RS-freshman or a true freshman. In 2012 LSU will either have Bailey (Sophomore), Rivers (RS-freshman) or a true freshman 2012 recruit at the minimum. We could possible bring in a transfer next year if the opportunity presents itself but as far as experience and numbers our situation for 2012 looks to be like bama's QB situation next year.

I knew, and you probably did too, that co-coordinators was a bad idea. Are you trying to tell me that you didn't know that? When you saw that we were the only team in the country with co-coordinators you didn't get nervous?

Are you going to tell me that when you saw that our only qb signee was a sure-fire 1st rounder you didn't scratch your head and say "uh-oh?" Really?

Liar.

Allow me to respond. At the time I made that post Miles was 32-6 and had a National Championship, right?

He was producing results, which, as I have said, are the only reasonable criteria by which to judge an employee.

Now he is producing shitty results and shitty excuses. If my old post had said he sucked when he was 32-6 then that would have defeated my whole premise, wouldn't it? The fact that I have been consistent in evaluating Miles on his results shows that I am neither a "negatiger" or "positiger" (retared terms, btw)

You win, I support you. You lose, you need to go.

WTF...who are you? Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross?

Put down that coffee!!! Coffee is for closers!!!

You know I really couldn't decide whether to go with Alec Baldwin or Ray Liotta. It was a close call. But the sentiment expressed in those two scenes really does sum up how I feel about the Miles/Zach Lee situation.

You mean to tell me he really thought that R Shep. was going to be a college QB
would you risk the chance of shep not coming to lsu by recruiting another qb last year, not saying shep does not commit but its a good chance if they bring in a 5 star qb with last years class.

So I'm sure that on multiple occasions you were posting on how Saban should be out of here, right?

By my count, LSU has 5 QB's on the roster. I don't know what happened with Garrett, but I would be surprised if Les asked him to go. Seems like that was his decision.

what "failure" are you referring to? Are you implying that his tenure at LSU has been a "failure"?

I posted this in another thread and think it may apply here.

Just wait and see the fiasco when the Jaguars fire Del Rio after this season. If they don't make the playoffs he is gone. Then wait and see everyone calling for Miles head.

Here is what I knew... Pelini was a co-coordinator at Oklahoma before he came to LSU and their defense has been one of the best every year. So, other big time coaches had done this with success. I also knew that Miles was trying to keep the confidence of his defensive players high since we were going to struggle on offense after RP's dismissal. The best way to do this was try and keep the same system in place and his best option to do that was promote from within. Did it work. Hell no. Was there evidence that it could work or had worked before...yes.

well who is pissing on you?

I agree he botched this one up. But people are still bashing him ab the grey shirt thing when a kid did the same exact thing to LSU. Actually worse. No i dont blame Lee he did what he believed to be the rt thing. And Les is doing what he thinks is rt. It just may get him fired and then you could sleep better at night wondering what clown we will hire next.

Actually we had 7 former qbs on scholarship at once. Not to mention the walkons. Oh and dont give me any bs about walkons cus if i recall correctly we did win some games with a walkon as our qb. I think we will manage. Like everyone says, you dont need an all world qb to win, you just need a smart one that can manage.
