LSU plays zero HBCU schools...What they would do to Southern would be no different that what they do to Sam Houston State, Townson.....or any other shitty football school they play...Would Southern lose absolutely, but the embarrassment LSU would have if they lost would be monumental. I don't think LSU wants that.

SHS would kill southern. Southern used to have a great program but not anymore.

Actually, it'd prob be a lot worse. Most HBCUs are pretty bad. You might get 1 or 2 that's pretty good at the 1aa level, but still not on Sam Houston's level. SU wouldn't be competitive at all

LOL... That's not why they don't play.

I do believe their is some underlying racial component that there. Southern fans travel really well, so the turnout would be great.

No. The turnout would be no different than ULM.

I bet if BRCC started a football program LSU would play them before playing Southern.

Are you aware of how ridiculous that sounds?

For most teams, I would say this is true. But there is no "if" Southern won. There is 0% chance Southern could win a game in Tiger Stadium. Not 1%...0%.

On a side note. When LSU was terrible in the late 90's (98,99), Southern fans that I went to school with swore Southern would beat LSU. Southern was good then but there would still be no chance for the Jags to beat LSU in Tiger Stadium ever.

You may find this hard to believe, but Sam Houston State is probably a better team than Northwestern State, the team that routed Southern last night. Sam Houston and Northwestern State are both in the Southland Conference, and at worst they are equals this season.

A game between LSU and Southern would be worse than watching an LSU practice. The biggest difference is at the line of scrimmage -- LSU would annihilate Southern on both sides and it would be so ugly that LSU would probably get bad press for even scheduling the game, at all.

agree, it would be 56-0 at half, we would probably have to kneel on the ball the whole 2nd half to avoid scoring 100

Actually, it wouldn't...and that is because of Les. Miles would never embarrass another program, especially another BR program, like that.

That is also another reason why the game would never, ever, be played.

People come up with excuses. The truth is SEC teams already play SWAC teams. Georgia is scheduled to play Southern so that kind of kills any excuse LSU makes about playing Southern.

The true reason is LSU doesn't want the riff raff on campus.

Ignorant statement is ignorant.

Whatever riff raff there is in Baton Rouge already knows where the LSU campus is. As for Southern and its football fans, ULL has hosted Southern twice in the last five years, and a big part of that was because of Southern's fan support. The largest home crowd ULL has ever drawn was its 2009 game against Southern, and they were happy to invite them back this season, and not just because it was an easy win for them.

All of this.

These two teams won't play but I think this game would be a sellout in Tiger Stadium.

Would be bad for everyone involved except Southern's bank account. They would get completely embarrassed.
