well it is kinda weird since there is <0.1% of posters here that think Les should not be fired if we don't completely turn this season around

so these types of threads are generally just boring circle jerks of misery

I guess. I just find echo chambers to be incredibly boring.

It was more fun when we were split 50/50 as a fanbase.

Winning 73% which is 2% pts. behind what the mighty Nick did with a weaker SEC.

That 73% is better than any LSU coach in the last 25 yrs but for Nick.

LSU is 2nd to Bama for wins among SECW teams in that time period.

9 L's in our last 2 yrs and 2 games in not acceptable at LSU, but lets not act like we have become the doormat of the west.

Yeah, he seems to be a good guy but that doesn't make him worth over 4 million dollars a year for the talent we have vs wins/losses,vs SEC championships, vs bowl victories, vs national championships.

Agree. I was just making fun of Alleva b/c he said something along those lines when he got played when Miles bluffed like he was going to Arkansas.

Here's the Alleva quote:

"You can talk all you want about winning championships. It's really not always about winning championships. It's about being in the hunt to win championships, and (Miles) has shown that he's consistently in the hunt to win championships."

we've actually only won 65% of our SEC games since the start of 2012 season

in saban's last 4 years at LSU he won 72% of his SEC games

he actually never had an SEC record worse than 5-3

whereas we were 4-4 in the SEC in 2014

They just didn't carry him far enough. The Mississippi would have been a good place to sit him down.

I thank Nick for his efforts at LSU, but lets be honest. You don't win the SECW with 3 L's anymore and the SEC of today is more challenging than the SEC of Nicks time. imo

Miles needs to step it up, but in 04 we had 3 L's and ranked #16, as I recall. It's not like there was some vast difference between Nicks 04 and the LSU 2015. All I am saying.

Miles needs to improve from last yr.

The 73% was all games as was Nick's 75%. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

In the last 2 years we have lost 5 games by 16 points or more. I don't give a crap about stat padding OOC or crap bowl opponents.

LSU is getting their asses kicked by more than Bama with what's still likely a top 3 paid coaching staff, a HC with double digit years at the program, and talent that has been ranked 4th overall the past 4 years total (behind 3 teams that have won the national championship in that span).

LSU is settling for mediocrity. Beat the crap teams, hope to upset somebody, make a bowl and finish with 9-10 wins. That's not satisfying, especially with the yearly shite offense.

Please be serious. Are you actually trying to compare Miles with Saban?

One showed up with a Dinardo team and built a national championship program.

If 10 wins a season is "settling for mediocrity", then why are there only a handful of college football programs in power 5 football who have been able to average 10 wins a season for the last 11 yrs?

I don't think anyone is saying they are happy with just winning 10 games or minor bowls, but lets not pretend our results since 2012 are far below any other west team not named Bama.

Do we need to pick up the pace? Sure. Is 9 L's in our last 2 yrs. and 2 games acceptable? No. Let's just not crap all over the program as is if our results since 2012 are vastly different than any other west team looking up at Bama.
