Game day just spent a solid 5 minutes taking a huge dump on the way LSU has handled this situation

LSU hasn't really done anything. The media is just running with "rumors" and passing it off as truths.

These guys are saying all kinds of dumb shite this morning. Herbie saying a 2 loss Michigan would get in over a 1 loss SEC Champion Florida team. Corso is the only one making any sense and he's 2 minutes away from stroking out.

two things...

one, the media has to cover this from an 'LSU fans are spoiled children' angle because the overwhelming majority of college football fans would love for their team to have the success that LSU has had under miles.... BUT, that doesn't mean that LSU hasn't underachieved under miles... it's basically the media taking the easy way out because they don't want to risk pissing off so many people who are incapable of thinking about something critically instead of letting their childish emotions rule them.

and two, LSU firing miles is very similar to herb's ohio state buckeyes firing john cooper about 15 years ago... the biggest difference is miles took over a much more ideal situation than cooper did.

Now lsu fans who hated pollack will love him because he trashed miles. Interesting turn of events but predictable with this fan base.

Not really. I still don't like him and think he's full of shite. He's an opportunistic hack and is trying to make himself relevant. Same as Herbstreit. They like Miles because he's a good guy, quirky, and keeps everyone guessing with his brand of English. I like Miles too, but it's time for a change.

At the end of the day, this is football. You either crush your opponent or you get crushed. And his teams have gotten crushed when they should have been the crushers.

Herbstreit is an Ohio State guy and fears what a contender LSU might be without Les, "hold them tigers down," Miles.

The media has this holier than thou attitude about everything . One minute they say how foolish we are for keeping Miles and now it's we should be grateful to have Coach Miles and he's the best we can get !

Honestly I'm surprised more LSU fans aren't pissed about the media. The media is saying that we are a middle of the road SEC team and should be happy with what we have.

Over 4 million a year should get better results.

This is really interesting considering that he picked LSU to make the playoff.

Herbstreit coming out saying "Les Miles to Michigan" before the national championship game so he could get the scoop early was more asinine than anything. I bet he still feels stupid for that.

Hey Kirk: Is it more asinine than when you said Miles to Michigan?

Correct. Mark May said last night we should just get in line behind Nick Saban.

FTS.

Louisiana does not need to take a back seat to Alabama when it comes to football.

Reach for greatness.

I was on the fence about Miles but Polack's comments basically echo mine in terms of "just switch OCs". We have done that several times yet same offense. The one constant is Miles.

How many times over the years has Herbstreit picked LSU to lose?

Not so asinine when you think of it like that, huh Herbstreit?

Agreed.

Listen, I like Coach Miles, really do. He seems like a strong family man, decent guy, and is a good coach. He's given LSU a good 11 years and has achieved a lot during that time. He's also underachieved during that time too. More so than he should have.

Over the last fours years, well, since the CG debacle, this this program has vastly underachieved for the level of talent that has been recruited. He's a great recruiter and helped put the "fence" up around Louisiana and set the stage for future coaches. Any other top-tier coach would kill to have this talent year in and year out. Florida and Louisiana are 2 of the top hotbeds for recruiting.

This program should have had at least another 2 national titles since 2007 with the type of talent present. No team wins them all, not even Alabama. However, with the level of talent, and the types of opponents, Miles should be able to adjust to the times, the game, and the situations and BE COMPETITIVE! Not roll over and take it like a sissy.

That's exactly what's happened on the field, confusion, lack of composure, and folding at times when they should be punching teams in the mouth. Not rolling over.

Dear Mr. Herbstreit:

Football is entertainment. WE are LSU's fans and target audience. WE buy the tickets and tune in to the coach's shows and support the program's ad-paying sponsors. WE foot the bill. If WE want him gone that's the same as not wanting to watch Mulholland Drive at the movies for the umpteenth time... at some point it never gets better and WE become bored... and even perturbed when we could be watching something better.

YOU, Mr. Herbstreit, can kiss my arse.

Sincerely,

an LSU football fan since 1953.
