Group of guys staying in New Orleans and driving over Saturday for the game.

Best place to park?? Free is great but more important is what is the best place when the group will be headed back to New Orleans after the game?

Group of nine of my members.... anyone wanna host them at a tailgate??? Free golf for you whenever your in tucson.

What are some other things to mention to them about where to go and what are the best times to get certain areas..

Thanks in advance! Anyone who would welcome them to their tailgate has a Roy d of golf for four on me when they visit the desert!!

The schedule of events will come out on the Thursday or Friday before game day -- tell them to be at the hill when the Tigers march down followed by the band about 15 minutes later. Even though Mike is no longer there, check out his habitat .. it's amazing.

I very seldom go through the parade ground anymore but did last weekend ... I'd forgotten how much goes on there .. just seeing the tailgate setups is awesome for those who've never been. Just walking all over campus gives you a taste of the LSU experience. And I'd say be in the stadium for pregame and the band. They're awesome.

Anyone anywhere will welcome you to their tailgate.

Others can tell you where to park .. we have a parking pass and I have no clue otherwise. Gotta be careful as you don't want to get sent in a direction opposite of where you need to go (I 10 East).

Think it would be great to get a thread going will all info for tailgating and parking and spots to be...

I wanna see campus busting out before this game. I was at 2007 Florida and the stat they kept throwing out was over 300,000 people on campus that day!!

Traffic is going to be a hell of a mess, so be sure to get to campus early. My recommendation is for people to park in the hayfield or levee lots (because they are big and easy to find). be sure to park on the south end of those lots so you will be routed south after the game. there are also some decent free lots along gourrier that I would recommend.

tailgating will look a little tamer than it did in '07, as they have made a lot of areas off limits to tailgating since that time (i.e. no more tailgating along Nicholson).

Park in the levee lots and then just take levee rd as far east as you can. Will probably be the fastest route out.

Is it best to take river road to brightside and then brightside to hwy 30 out?

I haven't parked levee in a while (I head west after games), but yes. Travel as far down River Rd. as they'll let and then jump on 30 towards Gonzales. It'll be slow, but MUCH quicker than waiting to get on I-10

Bottom left of the pic. Hayfield and Levvee lots will be your best bet to get back to Nola.

When you leave, you can take Gourrier past Alex Box to Nicholson. Take a right on Nicholson (Highway 30) and just stay on it. It will take you all the way to Gonzalez where you can get onto I-10 and head back to Nola.

Or you can do like others have said and go as far down River Rd as possible and you can get back onto 30 that way.

You will have to plan on getting to campus early though. Its going to fill up fast.

If you want to get out of there in a reasonable time, I would park around Ag Center. Get there early for free parking.

...bring an extra liver. this will be marathon drinking

Parking depends on when you plan on getting there. Anything after noon is a crap shoot.

Use this map. Stay south of South Stadium Drive/Skip Bertman Drive and you will be routed south back to NOLA. The arrows on the roads on the map are post game contraflows.

Perfect!

Appreciate everyone's help..

I will tell the group to wear some Arizona gear with an LSU hat.

Will also recommend the levee lots and to get there around 9AM.

I would park around Ag Cente

This is another decent option if you are willing to get out to campus really early. South stadium drive is two lane contraflow out to Stanford/Acadian which puts you directly on 1-10 E back to NOLA. Ag Center lot (including the E Boyd side) holds a lot of cars but will fill up really early certainly likely by mid morning...
