Phrase to remember: "It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission". that being said, disappear and miss the departure. i recommend the golf course, its not worth a divorce and most likely give you an all day cold shoulder sunday so you can watch 2 days of football without hearing it.

Step 1. Grow a pair. (quickly)

Step 2. Use them.

"Honey I must have eaten one of those ex-lax laced cupcakes those kids left for their teachers cause I got the massive shits"

If needed, down a box of the stuff so she will want you to stay away.

If it was the wedding itself, I kind of understand (I would never have mine on an LSU game weekend). But for a freaking luau, I would have to put the foot down on that one.

I second this. Sometimes you have to buck up for the actual wedding, but never, ever for an engagement party.

4x4,
If the picture is of your wife and the rest of the family looks like that, you might consider going and bringing a radio with earbuds because you don't want to lose access to those!

If not, get a hotel room here in town, drop her off at the luau and tell her you'll be back as soon as the game is over.

As for me, I'm giving mine money and sending her out shopping. She doesn't need to be in the house for this game.

If she demands you go it may be time for a divorce!!!

But this should have been made clear before you got married. I made that mistake for my 1st marraige, but married an LSU woman second time around. I have "NO" problems on gamedays.
