I was at the Arkansas game in Fayetteville last year and that abbreviated Tigerband was fricking jamming.

Is something happening to Talley as well?
Posted on 7/7/23 at 4:08 pm to The Boat
If Talley isn't going away you can bet your arse Linda won't coexist with him. She is more qualified for his job than he is.

Hopefully they stop his sped up rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.
Or the very slowed down version of the alma mater. The last three years or so the alma mater has been played at a slower pace.

Tiger Band is no longer under the jurisdiction of the athletic department, so I don’t think Scott Woodward has any input over who gets the job. TGBFTL started to decline as soon as the School of Music took control of them.
My first call would be to the Auburn band director. He’s an LSU alum and former Tiger Band member. AU’s band is one of the top in the SEC.

Just to leave them home for big games like UCLA.

Bring in someone who will let the band play Neck!
This could be the secret ingredient for the Tigers winning it all in year 2!

Where's Linda these days? Still in Illinois?

Yes. But I believe she’s been promoted to associate director of their SoM.

Who’s decision was that? They absolutely need to be under the athletic department. Who can decide to shift them back?

Make a stand, hopefully someone that will play “Neck” will come in, and not be afraid to play just normal tunes….

LSU band director Kelvin Jones is resigning, university says
quote:
LSU's band director announced Friday he was stepping away from the program citing "personal matters."
The university confirmed in a social media post that Dr. Kelvin Jones resigned from his role as Director the Golden Band from Tigerland. He's been with the marching band for 10 years.
"Due to personal matters, I have decided to step away from the position of Assistant Director of Bands / Director of Tiger Band at LSU," Jones said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the band staff spanning a decade from being a graduate assistant to leading one of the best marching bands in the nation."

This all happened when Jindal slashed state funding. All departments in campus started cannibalizing each other. SoM wanted the GBFTL money under their purview so they could rearrange the deck chairs. Tiger Band has not been elite since then. Then Roy King, then Linda leaves, etc. etc.
