As long as turnovers don't kill us like they did in 08, and the defense is on par with last year. Then my expectations are the same. 10-2

Actually they have increased.JJ and RS were not exactly offensive juggernauts. The game plan change may spark an offensive outburst that will involve multiple playmakers.

So being more one-dimensional is going to help us?

My expectations have increased, especially after watching the replay of WVU last year in TS on ESPNU this week. JJ is just a terrible leader. The one play from that game that sticks is when James Wright dropped the ball, and JJ is throwing his hands in the air, yelling at the TRUE Freshman. Horrible leader! Lets geaux Lee; be a real leader..

I thought JL was better last year and I am happy we won't be subbing in and out every drive. Expectations are still high for me.

If we would have had this defense and this O-line in 2008, what would the season have looked like?

Considering JJ wasn't a very good QB, was in a QB committee last year, and people were calling for Mett to start just a few short months ago...

I don't see how it effects the ON FIELD play in any appreciable way.

If the team can put the distraction aside, I think we are in the same boat as before all this, or slightly better.

I don't understand how this makes us better.

I don't see how anyone can spin this as a net positive. JJ and Shep are popular players on the team (don't know anything about JJ2). Their suspensions are probably going to affect team morale. Maybe they can spin these troubles into motivation, but I just don't know at this point.

Our effort against Oregon will be very telling. I think we win regardless, but I fear that the team may have lost some luster. Over the course of a season, that will take it's toll.

I can't remember being so bummed at the start of a football season in my life, and I have enough sense to realize that the past week's events are going to have a greater impact on younger men who are more directly involved.

Not really.

As far as the first game, it's more about how will our defense stop their offense. And our defense is still the same.

No. No excuses for failure. Miles needs to win the SEC.

I don't think losing JJ changes things as far as season outlook. Both Lee and JJ have their shortcomings. Losing Shep and Landry for an extended period of time have the bigger impact IMO.

I'm still saying 10-2.
