Have to admire the farewell Miles gave to both Nutt and Petrino

No better way to say goodbye to those two. The mercy knee with 5 mins left in the game was a signature moment. So many on here complained about not punching it in for another score but people will always remember the knee thing whereas they'll probably forget the score.

And then the sheer humiliation of the "#3 team in the country" on national TV followed by Petrino showing his true class.

Both gentlemen were firmly put back in their place by CLM. He had the last laugh in SEC competition.

This post doesn't have much class...but I still support it.

I have NEVER seen Les run up the score, especially vs. in-state schools. I think that's why the coaches have such great respect for him. (And the program).

It also gave TD.com the :mercyknee: and FYMF memes.

It was unfortunate. I think CLM had best intentions but it would have been better to line up in goal line formation and put onus on Rebs to stop them. If not, still would have been more honorable, IMO. But what could Miles do?

Ok, Les didn't technically run up the score on Ole Miss, but he did run a naked boot leg for the first time all season with the game in hand before taking the knee. Not saying it is running up the score, just saying we hadn't run that play all year and I think anyone could have guess Mett would have a lot of green in front of him.

I am pretty sure that was all Mett and not Les. The whole LSU sideline was laughing and surprised.

Without a doubt. Which leads me to believe that the mercy knee was not necessarily by design, but Les sending a message to Mett and ensuring that the score wasn't ran up on Ole Miss.

You can't put Petrino in the same class as Nutt. Petrino is a total douche.

Yeah but he's a helluva coach. Much better in Game coach than CLM. And before y'all start spotting records LSU has not hit the field in 2 years against a more talented team.
