For all the heat Dunn took early in the season he has got this pitching staff primed for the playoffs. Not to mention he's called great games from the dugout.

This weekend. Lange was awesome the past 4-5 weeks. Poche gave up 1 earned Friday

I have been a Dunn detractor and fairly vocal about it (for a couple of years now). and this year started out where no one could throw a damn strike.

all of that crap stopped and stopped abruptly about a month ago.

therefore, I should publicly announce tdhat Dunn has done a very good job this year. maybe I have been wrong.

They were both sitting at 40+ pitches by the end of two innings. They were solid, just not sharp by any means. Lange got shelled. Poche had some bad luck. It happens

Point is, that was just this weekend. Lange has been nails.

Walker has had bad outings too, just not the last couple. He's amazing when he's "on"

So, neither Poche or Lange were sharp by any means... geez, what a stupid response by someone who probably never played and is a critic. Lange wax sharp as the game moved along and Poche was not helped by the errors, but I am sure you could go out and do it...NOT ..,Go back to your Sports Bar or tailgate or other place where you can theorize and dream about what these young men have accomplished.

I've supported Coach Dunn all season long. He has way too much quality experience in his resume' to go along with his staff's performances here at LSU. He was SEC arse. Coach of the Year just 2 years ago. Look at what Lang did the past mth, mth & a half. You criticize Dunn for his early in the season work, so Dunn gets all the credit for what Lang has done recently. And neither Lang or Porche has been pitching against high school teams.

I expected Poche and Lange to be top shelf this season, but with the emergence of Walker, LSU has the pitching to go the distance this year. Dunn is definitely doing something right.

What a dumb arse response. They didn't look their best. That was my response. I even said I half way agreed with the OP. If that's anyone else we play, we have a chance at playing from the elimination bracket.

If Dunn stays through PM era, what about Dunn to be elevated once PM retires?

Which was always funny given that we've led the SEC in ERA and WHIP for the five years he's been here and he was named National Pitching Coach of the Year as recently as 2015.

Didn't work with Smoke, didn't work with Holbrook. I'm thinking we go find another proven winner. That's the formula for a juggernaut program like LSU.

One bad inning from Lange, and a non existent defense for Poche. Do some of yall even watch the games?

They are the same ones that were bitching bc we were starting Poche against Texas Southern and saying we should start Gilbert yesterday and pull Walker out of the bullpin bc it might rain.

I have not seen too many of those posters in here talking about how they were wrong and PM & Dunn made the right call.

Hats off until we lose a game. Then he should be fired.

No pitcher is going to be on every single game they pitch, regardless of the job the pitching coach does. And Dunn also doesn't coach the players in the field not to make errors. But, by and large, Lange has been nails the second half of the season and he has developed Walker into one of the most reliable 3rd starters we've ever had under Mainieri. You can;t say you partly agree because a pitcher struggles in one game. We've had one freshman develop into a great weekend starter and another freshman (Hess) develop into arguably our most reliable arm currently out of the bullpen. Give credit where credit is due. Dunn has done an outstanding job with the pitchers this year. very rarely are you going to have your entire staff firing on all cylinders from the start of the season to the finish.

Dude I'm with you all the way. If Dunn was any good at all no LSU pitcher would ever have a bad inning.
We LSU fans demand perfection in every athlete in every sport in every game.
