We don't win yesterday without a team effort. We fell behind early but out of this I think we found out what we can be as a team. This young oline found itself. The Defense knows what it has to do against a good team. We found a place kicker. We made adjustments and our special teams came through. I think these young players have the confidence and the experience needed and even when we fall behind now this team knows the talent is here to compete. I mean look at this team the last few weeks fewer penalties and turnovers. I think we are ready to make a run here.

I like your enthusiasm, but i am taking it game by game. With young players there will be ups and downs this season. Now that O has left Canada alone the offense seems to be headed in the right direction. Definitely liking what i am seeing though.

I am still VERY skeptical of our O-line. I think Canada schemed and coached his arse off to make them look a lot better today. Hopefully that continues.

I am hoping those downs have already occurred in the Miss st.game and the troy game. I think the road games in a hostile environment has been addressed with the younger players(Road games at Miss st and gainsville) and never let a inferior team sneak up on you when not giving 100% effort (Troy). Sorry we had to experience these frustrating loses but hopefully those were those learning lesson games.

I hope you're right! I just know with true freshmen, despite their raw talent, mistakes will happen due to lack of experience.

What’s ironic to me is I don’t think we get either of these wins if we beat Troy.

I don't think so either. I think the Duke Riley speech and the John Battle players meetings opened up alot of these players eyes both young and old. We are fricking LSU the college that puts the most players in the NFL and the pride of that should show on the field. Hopefully we can build on these recent wins and keep it going.

Agree. O wasn't doing much but basically stepped back and let Canada and Aranda do their things.. one game at a time..

There are no easy ones remaining. The Thing that scares me is if what happen early in this game happens on the road. If this game would have been at auburn this could have been another Miss state. I think the key for this team is stay close early then take it into the 4th Qtr.
LSU has a chance in all the game except maybe bama. If LSU goes down 20-0 to bama ,on the road, its blowout city. THis team can finish 9-3 if it has indeed found itself but as stated before it will be a week to week thing with this team

Amazing.

We’re paying a guy 3.5 mill NOT to coach.

I've heard from fans for years say that the coach should let their coordinators do their jobs and stop interfering. Now that we have that, I'm hearing that we pay our head coach for doing nothing.

Coach O controls who the assistants are, he decides when to punt, go for it, call timeout, go for 2, etc. I'm going to base my opinion of the coach's worth on wins and losses.

Wait so now we no longer have a talent deficiency and are going to challenge the SEC West?

The talent argument has always been bullshite. If we play like we did today we’ve got a shot to win just about all of the remainder of our games. I still think we lose to Bama and Arky because I’m not sold on the mental toughness of this team coming off what will probably be a hard fought emotionally draining football game in Tuscaloosa.

But yes, if this coaching model is legit, it should absolutely be go time moving forward.

Posted this in another thread, but this could be similar to the Alabama game in 2001.

Both teams had bad frustrating losses early on and seemed to finally put it all together and play the way we thought they could. It took us a quarter yesterday but the 27-3 run was about as dominant as we've looked against an SEC team with a pulse since beating up on Auburn in 2015.

This could go a long way to setting the tone not just for this season, but for this regime, similar to the way that Bama game did for that season, and that regime (no I'm not comparing our current "coach" to Saban).

Even with a loss to Bama, this team should finish 9-3, just like we did in 2001, with a bowl win getting us to 10 wins.

Do that and O will have every right to tell his critics to STFU for the offseason while he prepares the team for 2018. But frick around and drop another game to another shitty team like we did against MSU and we're right back where we started with an anomalous come back win after Auburn smacked us around and got cocky.

9-3. Get there. No excuses.

I'm with ya. Great post.
My motto is:

Let the coaches coach, the players play, and the fans get drunk & yell.
