I have said it before, if Jennings proves to be able to do exactly what Met does (all the throws, and reads) equally as well, without over throwing wide arse open receivers and can scramble. I think Jennings may be our starter within a few games.

You forget who our HC is. He picks his guy and stays with him. To a fault at times.

I want Mett to start anyway, it's too damn hard to have a Frosh start at the QB position.

All that I have read has Jennings surpassing Rivers as the #2 and will see the field some mainly in some specific packages.
And once the rest of the SEC gets film of those "Specific Packages" the element of surprise is gone. As soon as he steps on the field they're going to know what's coming.

In case you are going to mention Johnny Manziel, he was actually a redshirt freshman.

It will have served its purpose. One more thing opponents have to spend precious practice time on. And we can add one or two more wrinkles every week.

Cam will be able to add to Jennings packages as we go along. we won't be predictable with Cam. Jennings will pass rivers by the time the real games start. also, the packages will get him on the field and comfortable. I would think that AJ might be on the field in the first 2 games for more plays than rivers has been on field for his first 2 years.

Most of the articles I've read claim that Jennings is a "Pass first QB w/ athleticism". If that is truly the case, predictability by personnel should not be an issue. We'll see.

The bigger question here is, "Has Jennings surpassed all LSU players to never have played a down, yet are annointed best of all time?"

He's a pro style passer with mobility [Just look at the other schools that offered him]. Jennings also gives you the ability to run the read option from time to time.

Many pundits thought RS 'would be starting by the Auburn game'. How did that work out?

Not that I want to join the "celebrate too early" crowd with AJ, but I've been super excited about him ever since I watched his tapes on the RB. Don't play him too soon, but I'm eager to see him on the field.

Y'all are a bunch of racists. Y'all just want Jennings to pass up Rivers because he's wh......oh wait, nm....carry on.

One can dream. If Jennings can translate to the D1 level quickly, we'll have a QB controversy if nothing else.

Matt Flynn and Ryan Perrilloux part 2? I think we're about due for another crystal football anyway.

Look at the rosters for the Spring Game. Jennings and Retig on Purple while Mett and Rivers are on White. Obviously AJ is #2 and will start or Purple.

Jennings seems to be the Flavor of the Week...
It was during the off season of 08-09 when we saw posts speculating on whether Jefferson would win one or more Heisman trophies.
I have really like Jennings from the start, and his work ethic is what one needs to be a top D-1 QB, if the talent is there.
However, this talk is heading toward stupid... fast!
