This dude is amazing. The players call him the hit man 'cause of his agressiveness. I love the way he plays the game and he has some impressive guns.

what did he do, exactly?

He was prob the 3rd best safety on hte field tongiht. Chad Jones was all over the field. Taylor had a pick and nearly had a 2nd.

not that Coleman is bad. He is good. I dont think he is as good as Laron or is a top 10 NFL draft pick

O.K. You might be right but nobody who catches the ball around HC can escape the hits that he delivers. The dude is a monster and is long and tall.

he reminded me of Laron the most when he came up to hit someone today and tried to knock them out and totally whiffed

"Chad Jones was all over the field"

That's because he has absolutely no idea what he's supposed to be doing.

As of now, HC > CJ. Both are studs.

he looked pretty competent to me out there

he unofficially finished with 7 tackles and a tackle for loss

both are studs, but CJ is more versatile and a better overall player

Now im not going to rag on Coleman cause he could kick the shite outta me easily. But Coleman is alot like Craig Steltz. A HUGE hitter that intimadates everybody and somebody that is above average in coverage but not great. So while im VERY glad is in the purple and gold he is not the next Laron Landry. Landry was a HUGE hitter as well but he was also a great cover man.

Harry Coleman is really good, but he is nowhere near Laron Landry. That isn't a knock. I don't think everyone realizes exactly how good Laron was at LSU and still is in the NFL. I am not knocking Coleman at all, but Landry was a truly special player, not just another really good DB like LSU always has.

Are you kidding me? Landry was the complete package. He is a Roy Williams-hitting type of safety that is great in coverage.

And there may not be anybody better on the planet then Landry at the safety blitz. His timing is flawless.

I have zero clue how anyone could watch LSU and think that Landry was GREAT in coverage.

He missed a LOT of assignments.

He doesn't hit as hard and is not as fast, but he is a little more athletic.

tackling has improved quite a bit, IMO. Not just going after the killer hit

laron at lsu was all about the big hit, he did not wrap up as nearly as he should have. while coleman also goes for the big hit a lot, he also wraps up and form tackles while unleashing the big hit a lot more than laron. laron was all about the spear hit or just throwing a shoulder into them, coleman is more about exploding through the opponent and driving through them.

Got to agree with you here. I never thought Landry was great in coverage. If you want proof, re-watch the Tenn. game from '06. LaRon got burned a couple times. He quit wrapping up on tackles his junior and senior year, trying to make the big hit. I saw several ballcarriers bounce off his hits.

Landry had his problems playing the ball in the air. However, he had exceptional cover skills for a safety. I think he was much better in man to man in coverage than playing center field because he sometimes overrun the play and lose the ball.

I think it's way too soon to say Coleman is as good as Landry though. But, I am convinced that Coleman will be a fairly high draft pick.
