I think the entire team needs to play well too.
There are 21 other starters
And special teams. Which if you don't remember, they spotted Florida 14 points.

c'mon man. even the great Rex knows that it's a team sport. Harris playing well is a damn key element (depending on one's def. of well is) but to win the NC the team needs to play well across the board and needs to win the right games in the SEC west. not to mention any NC needs to get the "breaks" when needed.

And by "well" - I think mid-pack or just above in the SEC-W will do it.

I mean something like 190/300, ~2500 yards, 18 TDs, 7 INTs, keeping the sacks under 20 and contributing a little with his legs to extend plays and make the occasional first down/TD - that puts us in contention for the SEC and that's the ticket to the playoffs.

We've had one qb who played 2 years under Cameron and he improved a lot from year 1 to 2. If Harris does the same we are gonna be tough to beat. Aranda is a rising star at dc and though we have some questions I think well be very good. Our better opponents are later in the year and I think by then aranda will have the kinks ironed out. Everything is pointing to a championship run.

Not necessarily. Remember the Alabama game? Harris didn't play that poorly. We got crushed on both sides of the line; Fournette ran for 30 yds and Henry went over 200.

Harris can have a great game, and if the lines get beat like that again, we'll get smoked.

If the middle doesn't see a big drop off with Debo leaving, then yes. ST elevating their play a little bit would give him a little bigger margin for error as well.
With everything being equal I think you're correct.. the only missing piece is a little bit of consistency at QB. He just needs to play 2015, pre-hernia level. Nothing spectacular.

No. Takes a lot more than qb playing well. Mettenberger played well but that team didn't come close to winning a natl champhionship. We need some players on the front 7 to make consistent stops in crunch time like Lavalais and Dorsey did in their days.

Our playcalling is what needs to improve.
