On 104.5 today Hannigriff is calling for Brennan to start against Troy. Ga doing well with a freshman and Brennan offers the offense more.

he's not "calling for" him to start

he said if he were the coach that's what he'd do

I wouldnt be surprised if we did this.

O is a used car saleman, if he plays Brennan and we lose going forward he can way we were even younger and playing for the future

I really don't understand this. This OL is bad. Really bad. Tossing in a freshman QB isn't gonna help that.

Playing Etling isn't going to help anything either

his reasoning is that Brennan after 4 games is basically just as good as Etling is after 5 years of being in college and you're trying to build for the future

UGA has a functional OL, there is a big difference. Plus Eason is not close to resuming play at QB.

how is Brennan playing now going to help?

Learning how to throw the ball on the run every other play?

Call me Les Miles, but I continue to think of 2008. Just no compelling reason to start Brennan. Let's make some OL adjustments next year and let him loose.

If he is the coach and that's what he would do by definition that is "calling for him to start" it's just how you have to word it being in the position you are

I don't disagree with this

I know he only said start vs Troy, but if you start him this week how do you not in the coming weeks?

I do not want to see Brennan vs Bama with this OL. I just don't. Let Etling ride that one out. JMO

Maybe not this week as "technically" we are still alive.

But, if we lose to Florida, then we will probably be better off in the long run to hand it over to Brennan the rest of the season.

It might be ugly with this O-Line, but at least he wall have good experience for next year (which is about all we are playing for right now).

Anyone that thinks this is an idiot. Brennan threw the first interception of the year. Threw into double coverage. He isn't ready yet. Should he get playing time? You betcha. He is not ready to take over the program. We had to put Etling back in to seal the game.

He'll definitely learn to skedaddle.

until his confidence is shot in November after taking a beating, throwing a couple picks vs bama, running for his life due to below average OL play, etc

Behind this line...Ridiculous...Let the kid play once the game slows down for him, or else he will being seeing ghost the rest of his career. Could destroy his confidence. Could create a Jarrett Lee 2.0 or NFL version of David Carr.

I get that, but if he isnt mentally tough enough to get over that, then maybe he isn't the future at all.
