I don't get the people that seem to think he replaces Hawthorne .. he's horrible on the air .. LSU will blow that whole set up up and hire from the outside when the time comes ..

I didn't say Hawthorne was better but I do like that he shows excitement.
I'd like to hear hannigrif call warren Morris' homerun to see what he could do... I doubt he would surprise me.

Don't think so. I think a lot of the current voices will still be around even when Hawthorne hangs 'em up...
--Patrick Wright will likely get bumped up to a larger role. He is too good and has been around too long to just cast aside. I could see him at least getting men's basketball and maybe some baseball.
--Gordy Rush will one day replace Doug Moreau when Doug decides he doesn't want to do color any longer
--Ricky Blanton will likely do basketball for as long as he wants
--I think Hanagriff stays around and continues to do baseball for as long as he wants
I would really hate for some corporate outsider to come in and take over these jobs...someone who has no ties to LSU whatsoever. There are enough internal people to get the job done.

Hanigriff's voice is horrible. One of the worst sounding voices I've ever heard on radio. I'd assume that he's a good guy and tries hard, but c'mon LSU.

Il take Hawthorne any day of te week... He may screw up a lot but he has a good radio voice and I've been listening to him since late 80's. All the great baseball calls from the championship games... All the great basketball wins with Shaquille and Chris... And to this day my favorite two calls of all time are still baseball. Warren Morris call and the Cresse hit too bring theriot in was money. He's just a old guy now but a few years back I don't think there were many better on the college ranks. Just my opinion and I'm sure someone will slam it . But if ur under 25-30 then ur just catching Old Jim

He threw it away.
Only time Jim is enjoyable is when LSU is winning. He is one PBP who cannot keep his listeners when LSU is trailing.

Lyn is excellent but he goes from excellent to good when he gets corny with his analysis. I remember when Trindon H. was here playing football he would crack me up with some of his "off humor". "Trindons like a water bug the way he darts around." Hanagriff knows baseball as well as any announcer out there. He is kind of dull but he knows his stuff.
