Listening to Sports Today on 104.5 and he was asked if he thought Coach Haley was staying. Hanagriff said he thinks he will be gone by end of the weekend.

This open sets up everything for Coach CP and Coach O! Also Coach O said he and Coach CP speak a few times a week. So the relationship is there to get both and after hearing him this morning I think it all depends on Coach CP!

Haley on short list for DC position at MSU. This would be a move up for him and would make perfect sense with Chavis leaving.

i hope so, haley fricking sucks. O is so much better than him and the recruiting boost that O brings is insane

O also brings a toughness to this d that we haven't seen in a while. we have had some nice defenses under chavis but they lack toughness and straight up feeling like they are going to hurt someone.

Yep, I figure that, too.

And PSA to the Rant: this WILL cause temporary recruiting friction, but please weather the storm and know this is for the best in the long run.

Also please keep in mind that this may even lead to flips in our favor.

Okay, I'm done.

All really just speculation until we hear something official, but if Haley does leave I think it shapes up perfectly.

And then instead of finishing second for every recruit our DL coach goes after, we'd actually get them.

I said this earlier, CP as DC and O as DL coach is the number one possibility right now.

With Coach CP's West Coast ties I'd be interested to see how that possibly sways some recruits out that way. Also and I know this is a dumb stretch and hope, but maybe some West Coast QBs.

Trying to pump a little sunshine :D

Yeah, you're right about that...but I can promise you that Orgeron has been evaluating prospects all year...and knows who we need and want, so he won't need to catch up on anything.

Could be a pretty big recruiting hit this year of they lose Haley though depending on who they can flip.

ETA - nevermind...see this was discussed already

DL is bumper crop in 2016. Don't care about 15.

Hopefully O's time at USC will have left him with some connections out there that can help us pull some QB's from Cali. Icing on the cake.

I won't say I don't care about it, but I agree you have to do what is best for the program and sometimes it means spilling a little milk.

Obviously, the earlier they could get it done the better off they would be.
