Brick Haley, by the way, just signed a new two-year contract with #LSU.

Yes he signed when 4 other assistants also signed. All it means is that if he wants the DC spot and MSU wants him to have it that he and LSU have to agree to part ways, which seems likely.

Reported the 29th.

Thats not gonna mean much in the grand scheme of things. That was also under the assumption that John Chavis was staying as well

Can be release but must be bought if he leaves.

If both sides agree to part that isn't true. If LSU's AD wants to get $$$ for him then it is.

just signed

To be fair...when he says "just" he means weeks ago, not hours ago. At the time, the expectation was that Chavis would sign his too.

So he signed today or 12/29?

I was under the impression he didn't sign 12/29

This didn't just happen. He signed his extension like a week or two ago. Doesn't mean anything right now. He signed before Chavis left.

Position coach contracts rarely if ever contain a buyout provision from the coach's side. The school might have a buyout if they wish to terminate the contract, however. I don't think signing his extension means much of anything.

This is not new. It's only so he has a job. LSU and Haley can mutually agree to let him leave to somewhere like MSU without a buyout.

Yeah I believe he was responding to the fact that it was tweeted that Haley was on a list for MSU DC job.

So what? Chavis was under contract with lsu through the 2015 season. Contracts mean nothing in CFB. Just ask bobby Petrino.
