@NOLAnews: Landon Collins, Gunner Kiel reflect on choices after spurning LSU LINK
quote:

Kiel said Saturday he has spoken to Miles about the remark but holds no hard feelings about it. "Once he said it. . . I don't blame him at all," Kiel said at media day. "I was dumb during the recruiting process. I couldn't make up my mind. I was also doing what was best for me at the time. That was picking a college. "That much pressure being so highly ranked, I couldn't make up my mind. I've always respected Coach Miles. I'm not going to throw him under the bus because I think he's a great coach. I can't take back what I did." Kiel said whether or not he speaks to Miles is up to the LSU coach but said, "I wouldn't mind it. He was great to my family and I. He offered me a scholarship."

Article writer is obviously a hack.

LC needs to shut his whorish mouth. How's his GF's new job or the mommy's new Benz

GK took responsibility.

Screw both of them. They had Les and his staff wasting their time recruiting two players that didn't want to go to LSU

I didn't blame Miles for what he said either, Keil was a dumbass during the recruiting process and it's nice to see him admit it.

The two recruits we heard the most about last year are both in the national championship game. Looks like those two made the right choice.

Neither contributed this year or are playing in the game. I guess a towel waving championship is fun though

The right choice means making it to a national championship game without playing?

I think LC did that. I really think Kiel wanted to come here but got cold feet. I don't think he played us. Collins definitely played us.

No one held a gun to LSU's head and forced us to spend time/money on these guys.

You go after who you feel you need till they sign.

Kiel could have handled it better, but Coach doesn't need to be calling out guys he loses. imo

It's not like he said anything negative about Kiel "on the record" in an interview. He was just putting on a show Miles style for a dissapointed fanbase. I'm sure Les regrets saying it, sure brought him a lot of negative publicity.

Let me get this straight. It's perfectly acceptable for miles and staff to mislead players, both while recruiting them and while on the team( ie, Russell Shepard), but not at all acceptable for players to mislead miles and staff.

Am I getting this double standard correct?

They didn't mislead Shep bro, he chose to change position on his own.

Miles probably said he would give him the opportunity to compete for the QB position.

I thought Kiel was classy about it. He messed up and should have handled it better. Not a bad word about Miles.

Can't expect more.
