I read in the Advocate where Orgeron is going to run a modified Gulf Coast offense. Sounds exciting.

My college roommate and i called our Madden 2004 franchise offense the gulf coast offense

It was basically the west coast but with tempo.

sounds apt since we got a shrimp boat captain and his deck hands running the show

well, our offense is built on shaky foundation and perpetually eroding so it checks out

Seems gumbo-flavored. Wonder if its seafood or chicken/sausage.

Looks nice but often filled with Louisiana trash?

Adds up imo.

I don’t like that name. It reminds of years ago listening to a interview on WWL that Buddy D was doing with at the time Saints offensive coordinator Carl Smith. Remember them offenses were pretty putrid. A caller asked Smith what he would his offense. He well since San Francisco has the west coast offense I would call mine the gulf coast offense. The very next caller told him that the better name would be the coastal erosion offense, because they continuously would lose ground.

That name is so catchy Willie Taggart has been using it for years.

I remember one ESPN announcer years ago called Tubberville’s offense at Auburn the Gulf Coast offense. I think that was in the Williams, Brown, and Campbell days.

Our coach is a used car salesman and this is just another catch phrase/gimmick he’s using to try and sell us his BS.
