Good for him. I don't see how Mayfield doesn't win playing in that conference

If he puts up 2015 LF7 type numbers next season and we win at least 10 games, he should be invited to New York.

I like this guy's thinking!

The dark horse for me is LSU’s Derrius Guice all the way down at 20 to 1. I think he’s going to have a phenomenal year. Who’s your Heisman Trophy dark horse?

If he wins the Heisman, awesome. Good for LSU and better for Guice. He certainly is capable, without question.

More importantly is that he helps LSU turn the tide, quite literally, on the recent five year trend. My body is ready.

Mayfield

Because it's the Oklahoma system that makes the QB look good, and not so much the QB being actual Heisman caliber.

Simply look how many outstanding college QBs they've had in Norman. And of them, in the past decade plus, they have one often injured active starter and one backup in the league.

Stoops knows how to pick his OCs.

Lincoln Riley is a take for OC at any school.

If he wins, we are running the ball way too much. Don't think Canada will let that happen.

Nah, if he wins it means he is the best player on the best team. Canada should let that happen.

I've got him listed at 20/1 on the William Hill app. I bet him at 20/1 back on April 30. Hasn't moved off that number.

I hope the offense is not so dependent on him that he wins it due to having to carry an enormous load. I would rather see the offense spreading the ball around such that there is not one extreme standout from a stats perspective.

Glad he's not at the very top. That has been the
kiss of death for many years. I don't think any of the
last 10 winner were anywhere near the top as a favorite.

It really boils down to what sort of season the Tigers put together.

I remember a couple years ago everyone jumped on the Fournette train after a great start and a 7-0 LSU record against 1 decent team and 6 cupcakes. Then Bama happened, and the vibes suddenly shifted from Fournette to Derrick Henry

LSU needs a Heisman winner for national recognition.
