regardless if I mistyped. The guy is a helluva coach. This is not a knee jerk thread. This is because he has average talent playing sound basketball on a very big stage.

Everybody who knows anything about basketball knows about Gregg Marshall. You aren't the first to suggest him.

He makes more money at a better basketball program. That's why he didn't leave for Alabama.

I get that. I'm speaking in more generalities. Suggesting we try and get a coach of that skill level.

It's a lower ceiling basketball program but it's definitely better.

I never said that I was the first to say this and I think it's ok if I wasn't the first. I just wanted to point out that there are solid coaches out there that LSU could possibly hire.

I would agree. Regardless of the overall prestige of the athletic program of that University, Wichita St certainly has better tournament wins in the past few years. That makes them a better overall program.

No, that doesnt make them a better program. Do you think coaches will be knocking down the doors to coach there if Marshall leaves? Thats like saying UMass was this elite job once Calipari left. Thats not how this works.

I'm aware of that. I'm just bringing up a topic that has be been widely discussed on this board. Hypothetical situations are discussed on this board ad nausea.

People wouldn't be knocking down doors to get the Gonzaga or Butler jobs. They're obviously better basketball programs. Also nobody was knocking down the doors for this job the last 3 times it was open.

Uh, Wichita St. making the tourney is nothing new. Especially compared to LSU's shitshow in recent years

LSU should just hire every coach that can either hang with, or beat a big name program....just get em all on staff...doesn't matter who has the title of coach, it'll be coaching by committee and LSU will be known for starting this new trend, where every coach is the head coach, and will sweep the nation and revolutionize college basketball.

They are willing to pay 3 million for a basketball coach. That makes them a better program

Marshall would outright embarrass a Johnny jones team.

He makes 4 million a year or something around that while Johnny makes 1.5 million.

If LSU wants to win they can't be cheap.
