I’ll root for any player in the P&G but I’m not sure if a new DC can fix Penn’s issues. He’s stiff and slow for the SEC.

I am glad, he is an old school MLB. A thumper that is good in the running game. He is not very good in coverage though. Hopefully that improves

He definitely didn't have a great year, but I'm going to put it on poor coaching because everybody looked bad.

It’s a good thing Penn is coming back. Speights was awful and when you have two LB’s and one isn’t fitting his gaps it will have an affect on the other LB. I think this is the case with Penn early in the season. Penn doesn’t have the speed to play sideline to sideline but is a serviceable LB. He will improve with another year and better personnel around him.

People acting like Penn is some scrub.

Did you see how easy it was for Milroe to get around him? Penn can't move laterally.

Improvement would be welcome, but Penn doesn’t have to get better. He played very well this season. These negative Nancy’s are just too benighted to see it.

Penn doesn't have to get better?

For as much shite as Penn gets, he saved our season and Jayden’s Heisman with that INT vs the ags

I'm a Penn fan. Good, hardworking guy, glad to have him back.

Is this where we downvote and talk shite about an experienced SEC player at a position of need returning?

If the experienced person can improve plugging proper gaps like some other LSU LB’s did their final year - Phillips and Queen come to mind, then yes.

Can he have marked improvement with his lateral speed? It killed us last year.

This. Gap assignments were terrible by our LBers most of the year. Coaching can improve this. Not sure our coaches can improve this, though.
