LINK

This is a LSU baseball podcast and someone else already posted about it, however, I am using it as my source for the title of this thread.

CPM has told them that Deichmann is a possibility to play as DH this weekend. So it is not as bad as first thought thank god!

UPDATE!!! LINK

LSU Baseball sent out a tweet last night that said, "Junior outfielder @Greg_D07 practiced Wednesday with no problems. He will return to the doctor tomorrow and play Friday night if cleared."

So hopefully he is good to go

That's not what this means...

He still broke his face. The question is do they risk letting him play with a mask?

Interesting, I guess they still feel like he'd be more prone to re-injuring himself in RF by diving for a ball or a possible collision with another fielder?

The article I just read an hour ago said that he nor his staff or players will address Deichmann's availability before Thursday...

There are threads that he might be out a few weeks. That was what I am responding to.

Yep, but did you listen to the podcast? They explain that he is OFFICIALLY going to make a decision by Thursday. CPM has said to Hanagriff that he COULD play this weekend but would tell everyone Thursday

He still might be out of few weeks. You're responding to speculation with more speculation.

Man... if Deichmann plays this weekend, then he certainly is tough as nails.

Cam Cameron just quit again.

But seriously, I'm just giving tad a hard time because PM/LSU put out a release that Deichmann's availability this weekend would be decided on Thursday. And that has been discussed plenty.

Exactly. He has to get over the mental hump, and using a football like helmet that covers his face.

I don't think there is any reason to rush him back. He's a know quantity at the plate, which is the only place he would contribute by rushing back.

We're playing service academies. I will be the first person to talk about how good Air Force might be this year, but they're still Air Force. We don't need Deichmann to beat Air Force. Especially when their best pitcher is a lefty that throws 96-97 without a ton of control. That's not something I want a left-handed batter to step in the box against after just getting hit in the face.
