Between the Morgan play and Warren's walk off hr, I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the fact that LSU has the greatest offensive and defensive play in CWS history.

Yes, Leon Landry’s name became synonymous with running down fly balls and making diving catches on the track. May not be a specific play to reference but Greg Deichman could really gun down runners at the plate. TV announcers would say “don’t test him!” ha ha

I may be alone on this but I don’t think Bregmans play is as great as some talk about. He was playing shifted towards second and looks to get a late jump on it. It wasn’t otherworldly range like some people say but he did make a good play on the ball and a good throw.

I was never fully impressed with his range in the field. While Bregman was an overall better player Nola was twice the fielder he was.

i actually don’t give a bucket of horse piss about you having a different opinion.

you’re entitled to yours just like i am.

but throwing out the “i played collegiate baseball” bullshite as if that matters somehow makes me question if you even played.

i know several people very well who played collegiate ball. Couple owned school and conference records when they were done. one had a cup of coffee in the bigs.

all of them combined have mentioned playing college ball fewer times than you have in just this thread.

The Warren morris play to home for the championship was pretty amazing.

Nola had more limited range than Bregman. He just made every play in his range whereas Bregman didn’t as consistently as Nola.

The throw is what made the play ridiculous

I just watched it 10x & yea, you are alone.

I don’t think there was a big gap between them by any means. Certainly not twice anything.

But numbers show Bregman got to more balls vs Nola

Range factor below based on loose calculations of numbers available (4.5-4.8 generally leads mlb SS each season) :

Bregman 4.54
Nola 4.28

Ast per game: (Breg 13’-15’, Nola 10’-12’)

Bregman 2.9
Nola 2.6

Bregman had an up & down Fresh season but really came into his own thereafter. Nola solidified SS as a freshman, and likely was only better vs Breg as a freshman only.
