Great Video on Bob Pettit

I'm old enough to remember Bob Pettit and saw him play many times, but some of you may not be familiar with how great a player Pettit was in the N.B.A. Here is a link to a neat YouTube video of Petit.........

Crazy how Bob and wilt only got 1 championship a peice because of bill russel and the celtics.

I just watched that. Great stuff. He was a little before my time. He won his championship the year I was born. I would like to see video of him playing for LSU.

Wow! Thank you so much for the link. I knew very little about him , but I now understand why he is in the NBA Hall of Fame. A 245lb power forward in those days must have made him a beast. He could make free-throws too!

Wilt got two, but yeah those Celtics teams were loaded. Russell had a little more help than Bob and Wilt. By the time Wilt got a good supporting cast they were mostly past their prime.

Great video. I saw Pettit play in a high school tournament when I was a kid in Hammond in the late 40s or early 50s in the Southeastern gym. My dad pointed him out - he was a great player then. Never saw him again except on tv.

I know Mr Bob personally, graduated from HS with his son
Spent many a night at his house growing up as I still remember his trophy room with numerous accolades

Thanks for posting the video. I got to see Pete play for the Jazz as a kid but never got to see Pettit. I knew he was great but the video confirmed that and maybe even more. Thanks again
