Ronnie is probably a descendant of James Corbett LSU athletic director from 1955-1967

Miles may have had no choice?

I agree, Miles is a great person yet there are plenty of sick people to visit. Who chooses?

Way to go, Rantards!

Miles has a great coaching record and appears to be fine man with an outstanding personal character.

Anyone not happy with a man who has those 2 traits being the HC at LSU fits the bill for a true retard.

My guess is every head football coach in the country has a favorite charity. I think its a good thing because it benefits less fortunate people. Coaches today understand the value of public relations and giving back. Some of this is probably the result of good sports agents. It's a great thing for everybody.

This was no publicity stunt, this is Coach Miles' true character. He is sincere and cares about people, and that is one reason his players play so hard for him! And this is one of many stories that don't make the media headlines, he does this quite often.

Miles doesn't a nice deed for a troubled kid/family and you have to try to cheap shot it by round-a-bout crediting a sports agent.

Talk bout being one negative person........

Don't worry about it. He's probably just another one of those insecure people that think playing the cynic is cool.

there is a committee that determines potential press value, possible donations to the athletic department, significance of illness, age of the sick person, etc. They use a spreadsheet. Saban was going to come see me back in 2001, but I lost out to a girl having a heart transplant. Guys in their 40's having a double hernia just don't have the same press appeal.

Miles does this all the time with kids and nobody ever hears about it. He's a truly good man and I think we're damn lucky to have him.

It is with much sadness that I bump this thread and report the passing of Adam Corbett, the young man that Coach Miles befriended who had cancer. According to Facebook posts, Coach Miles visited Adam and his family last night and made Adam an honorary graduate of LSU.

Please put away your disdain for our offense and all else negative for just a moment and see what a real man our coach is and to remember the family involved. To lose an otherwise healthy child to cancer at 18 is just unthinkable.

Coach Miles is a good man for doing this for someone he had never met before.

I never had the chance to meet Adam but I know his older sister Emily, and I can't imagine the pain they are going through. Please keep the Corbett family in your thoughts and prayers!

My son went to Dunham. Adam was a great kid. Just the nicest family you can imagine. Prayers for the family.
