Patronizing me doesn't validate your argument but nice try. We didn't lose because of pitching last night. That simple enough?

hitting obviously plays a part. has been a concern all year long. you are saying that hitting is THE reason yesterday. not the fact that cpm did not start his next best pitcher. i am saying poche may have very well not allowed the same number of runs. whomever pitched gave up double what this staff gives up on average (no i do not know the exact team era).

my original point is that LSU has played themselves into a position that every single game matters. when you hold something back, the team knows it. they just did not respond yesterday. cpm held something back, and LSU lost.

good chat.

We scored one run... Yes. It was THE reason.

i understand your point. if LSU loses 1-0 Thursday, was his decision still the right one in your mind?

my point is that he did not put forth his best pitching option, for whatever reason. where as bama did put forth their next best pitcher. and they won.

Well we didn't put forth our best lineup either.

Exactly, I question Mainieri often. That lineup last night was garbage and it showed.

It's all about the matchups. Of course if he was completely concerned about matchups, Stevenson wouldn't bat against lefties.

I think we had 4 hits. Chinea had the only RBI with a solo HR. I still say the lineup sucked.

Bregman and ibarra not hitting is sucking the life out of me. Im to the point where i dont know if bregs can get out of it this season.

how much longer do we continue to think that he is just in a slump? maybe he isnt the hitter most thought he would be.

I saw him be that hitter last year, so i know he can be what we were hoping for.

Poche's off week might actually help LSU down the road. Freshmen tend to hit walls during a long college season. Having that time off during the next two short weeks with Auburn on Thurs and SEC tourney early would have been a lot of stress on an arm. Now, the biggest issue will be if Nola doesn't get to pitch in SEC tourney.
That will suck.
