How did we let the kid from Mandeville get away? He was kicking 60 yarders in HS.

Why would Coach Ed Orgeron stick with a guy that folds under pressure? Gonsoulin is a choker.

If you're going to go by how they do in high School then Culp should be there. Consistently kicked ko's out of end zone. Why he can't now???

I thought you were exaggerating Richey's awfulness.

He was 8/23 on FGs at LSU.

How that same guy had a 7 yr NFL career, going 76/106 with a long of 56 is beyond me.

Orgeron said before the BYU game that they had competition in practice and Gonsoulin won it. Then when he missed one against BYU and another one against Chattanooga, Culp came in and made one of two. Now, Orgeron announces again that they had a competition and Gonsoulin won it. Based on these statements, I'm assuming Gonsoulin is doing better in practice, and I'm observing that going with Gonsoulin isn't working.

Jack is my fraternity brother's son, so I am biased but I had no problem with Culp being in there. I think Jack's problem was mental, by being too excited. I hope he will calm down and give us a game winner if necessary. If we can solve our red zone problem all he will have to do is kick PATs

I watched both kickers pregame and Gonsulin has a much bigger leg and was kicking from 50+ with no problem. Much more consistent solid strikes and clearly the better kicker ... in warmups at least.

He was a stud in High School. Scuttle in Lafayette at the time was he went to Morten Anderson camps and could keep up with Anderson to over 60 yards.

I think it's a clear example of how much kicking is in the head vs the leg. Also 3 blocked kicks in his senior year.

His Freshman year he only tried kicks over 50 yards 0-3

Sophomore no attempts

Junior 5-10 total 20-29 yds 3-4 30-39 yds 1-3 40-49 yds 0-1 50-99 yds 1-2 long 54 0 blks

Senior 3-10 total 20-29 yds 0-0 30-39 yds 3-6 40-49 yds 0-3 50-99 yds 0-1 long 37 3 blks
