I don't know where you have been eating. I have had some tremendous BBQ in Nashville and Franklin.

You wouldn't understand so there's no sense in trying to explain.

There is a new place on 12th ave called Edleys. Good BBQ. It's not a Nashville institution or anything, but it's as good or better than anything I've had in town and I've tried them all. The weather isn't supposed to be great in Nashville this weekend unfortunately.

If you're in Memphis you're in a much better area for BBQ. World class BBQ has two elements: Pork with Memphis style dry rub slow-cooked in a smoker makes the best meat, and the best sauce is a combination of tomato-based and vinegar-based with enough cayenne to make it spicy. The best example is found at aa place called Strawberry's in Holcomb, MO. The ribs and pork steaks (which most have probably never heard of) are unreal.

By the way, NC barbeque sauce is mustard-based. Retarded.

What part of Michigan are you coming from? Up around Lake Superior or closer to Detriot?

I was going to say this also. Edley's is pretty legit and in a cool part of town in the 12th South area.

Should we have this thread moved to the F&D board?

2nd Ave during the day is family friendly (good bbq and live entertainment).

Opryland, Opryland Hotel and Opry Mills off Briley Pkwy is something fun to do if you're trying to pass up some time.

Have fun and

I think I heard the 104.5 afternoon crew was going to be broadcasting tomorrow, but didn't hear where.

Anybody?

Enjoy it is an awesome city! I moved here about 3 years ago...

While the facilities are pretty awful utilizing both the football stadium and basketball arena. That is false about the outfield, you have to walk into the gym but they have concessions and facilities there. Memorial Gym sits right behind LF. Also Vandy does sell $10 GA tickets day of game where you can find empty seats in the grandstand because of a lot of no shows. Only catch is that if someone comes for their seat you have to move. I was on the understanding the grandstand is all sold out for the weekend with only outfield available.

I will second the Preds game idea (don't try to haggle with the scalpers outside of the Bridge, they are awful). The fiancee and I are making a day of it on Saturday, baseball game afternoon and go down to Broadway before the Preds game. They have a river cruise that goes from the Opry and loops around a nice view of downtown but not sure if it has started yet.

Looks like we will have some decent weather minus Sunday. Have a great time!

What do tickets outside of arena usually go for?

Depends on opponent and day of week, usually best bet is StubHub. Seeing that you will get a lot of Blues fans coming down for the weekend, you are probably looking at least $80 for nosebleeds.

the vandy/lsu basketball game last week was great.

there were people giving away all kinds of good tickets outside of the gym.

we used the ones we bought and moved all the way to the front row during the game..no one cared.

i somehow doubt the baseball game will be quite so lax.
