message from LSU Atlanta Alumni Association below...way to GEAUX TIGERS!

VICTORY FOR LSU
License Plate Goal (Finally!) Reached

It's as if Papa Noel has come early and adorned LSU Atlanta's Christmas Tree. We hoped and believed it could be done before the end of football season. Now it is a reality - WE have reached the $25,000 goal line to to get LSU specialty license plates into production in Georgia! Thanks to everyone who signed up and paid their manufacturing fee, and especially to the many folks who sent in additional donations from $50 to $3,500 when we were allowed by the state to raise money to reach the goal.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
We are preparing the required paperwork to submit to the state of Georgia with our manufacturing payment. We are waiting for the state to let us know how long it will take to get the plates produced and made available. We have been told previously it is a process of weeks rather than months to get them out but we have asked for specific expectations based on submitting our paperwork at this time.

So while we cannot answer every question you have yet, please be patient. Do not try to contact the tag office and hold off on contacting us with questions while we work with them to arrange for fulfillment. We will report what will happen and when in full detail very soon.

And remember, this is not the end of our efforts. We are STILL TAKING ORDERS - keep telling your friends to go to our web page and reserve their manufacturing fee to be among the first to get a plate. Meanwhile, let visions of Tiger eyes dance through your head.

JUST IN TIME FOR FOOTBALL SEASON - THE PLATES ARE HERE....sort of :) I got mine today, pretty sweet. The first 100 (special low number orders) are available and the rest of the allotted 1000 are right around the corner...if you signed up and paid the manufacturing fee, you should be contacted by LSU Atlanta - if not, reach out to them to get your receipt and ETA on your plate. If you haven't signed up and paid the manufacturing fee - don't delay and use the LSU Atlanta registration link to get moving!!!

The Plates are Coming
First 100 in Tag Office by End of Week; Everyone Else to Be Notified Soon

Reports are flying in from our premium 1-100 number plate owners that they have finally received their letters instructing them to go to their county's main tag office at the end of this week to pick up their specialty plate.

To find the main county tag office for you, go to GA County Tag Offices scroll down and enter your county. They say the main office is the one closest to the county courthouse. There is also a phone number in the letter if you have questions. (We hoped they would sort Fulton County's by zip code and spread them to tag offices nearer to owners but that was not to be- sorry, we tried.)

If you reserved a 1-100 number plate and have not received your letter by end of day today, please email us and we will try to assist in resolving any address change issues etc.

NEXT: The tag people wanted to clear these first reserved plates out of their offices before opening redemption of remaining randomly numbered plates. It will probably be another 10-14 days before everyone else can go. The process has changed more than once in the past few months so we will let them handle the instructions to avoid confusion. Stay tuned for updates.

Once the notices are all out for existing plate reservations LSU Atlanta will aggressively promote new LSU specialty plate sales. People will still need to go through the chapter to get a $25 manufactuing fee receipt before the state will issue a plate. Inquiries at the tag office will be referred to the chapter.

Have lived in GA for 12 years now. I've paid my money to the LSU Atlanta Alumni Assoc. Waiting to get my authorization to go get my plate from my county tag office.
