Whether you agree or not that one of the most successful college coaches overall in the country from 2005 through 2013 and an elite coach from 2005-07 and from 2010-13 should be fired soon, it is going to happen – right or wrong.

Last week was about what should happen. Today, it’s about what’s going to happen.

Alleva, the Board, and key boosters’ minds are already made up. It’s only a question of when and how.

Wow.

If it has truly come to this, I have to think that they already know they can pull in a big name - I doubt they would fire Miles and then blindly conduct a search.

If they're letting Miles go, and have been planning this since the Arkansas game, they already have their replacement.

I was thinking about that how if the Michigan job would have been open this year. One year too late. I really hate to see Les go out like this. Tough. I know it's also tough going to the Music and Independence Bowls.

They've been planning this since last year, brah. They were just waiting for the inevitable.

If LSU is going to do it – and LSU is going to do it – do it now. Give the players and everyone a chance to exhale, release the pressure and let Miles coach his last game – if he wants to do so - in peace and void of more questions about his tenuous future. If not, appoint Ed Orgeron the interim head coach for the game. He has experience in such situations. And whoever is the next coach needs to keep Orgeron.

Apparently, he's Alleva's mouthpiece.

It would be hard imagine any "professional" journalist defending keeping Les around after these last three showings.

Charles Weems - the voice of reason

quote:

"I am not aware of any rumblings among those vested with the authority to make such decisions and do not believe that there are any," Weems, an attorney who lives in Alexandria, told Gannett Louisiana on Wednesday night. "Disappointed fans with unrealistic expectations scream, but that’s just noise. We have a very talented, but very young team that started fast, but has exhibited some learning curve issues the last couple of games."

"The most important ingredient for sustained success is stability," Weems said. "Those universities who have jumped off a successful football coach because they were just sure the next one would be better have proved over and over again that it ain’t necessarily so. And in most cases, the program goes backwards. It’s way too early for this discussion at LSU. I think we certainly have to see how this group does through the 2016 season to be fair to them."

Glenn Guilbeau has trolled LSU fans for years and has sh*t on Miles numerous times. F*ck him and his opinions.

I would definitely fire BDP and Steele and let Harris and Cameron have one more year.

Ran into Rick Cleveland at the grocery store this afternoon. He said all the BR writers stayed in Jackson Friday night and they all hung out. He said they were all saying the same thing: gone regardless of win or lose.

I normally don't read anything GG writes but I did read that piece. I disagree wholeheartedly that LSU is better firing him tomorrow rather than next Monday. The kids want him here and I promise you they want him to lead them on the field one more time.

Don't steal that from them. They committed to him and the school, don't rob them of that opportunity.
