I was going to say, would it even be a noticeable difference?

Here we go again with the fashionistas worried/interested in the font. F*ing really?
Why is this even an topic of conversation?

I think the Geaux font would look cool on our helmets. They've gotten a few things wrong (toonces), but the Geaux font is the heat.

The new Tiger head wasn't just for the Spring game. It's what will be used going forward.
Since the Geaux Font is being used all over the stadium, on most LSU apparel, and is LSU's official copyrighted font, it seems to me that it would make sense to update the helmets with it, particularly now that the Tiger head has been modernized.
To clarify my earlier statement; I am a traditionalist in the sense that I generally oppose changing logos, uniforms, colors etc. when it's unnecessary (see: Toonces, the uniforms worn against Tulane with the pelican on them, purple pants, etc.) It's hard to improve on the best-looking uniforms in college football. But, with that being said, I do like the subtle update to the Tiger head which also coincides with the not-so-subtle changes to Tiger Stadium.
Is everyone else as ready as I am for the season to get here so there is more to ponder than helmet font? It feels like two years since the bowl game.

when are they going to start selling merchandise with the new logo?

They already changed the tiger
True, but its virtually unnoticeable unless you look close. Lettering one helmet should never be changed.
I repeat leave the electrical tape alone.

Always liked that style. I wish they would go with this look for a game to honor the teams from that era. Also wear a 1958 style uniform for a game.

Wasn't the tiger head change strictly for the spring game? Aren't they going back for the regular season?
From the 2014 media guide:
I've been advocating a switch tot he Geaux font if they ever were to change the tiger. I think it looks fine. I wouldn't be surprised if they made the move next spring, just like with the tiger head. If they want a completely cohesive brand, I think it will happen. Here's a graphic I just whipped up:

Hey guys look at this picture:

No need to change the lettering, but if they did, most probably wouldn't notice it. It certainly wouldn't "ruin" the helmet.
Also, am I the only person who likes the early 70's hat? Maybe bring that one back for a game or two. Do a throwback game with Ole Miss in their baby-blue helmets/ jerseys

if everyone went back to them there would be less concussions

LSU has hated tradition for decades

The old tiger was just objectively cooler and more ferocious looking than the new tiger.
