Gameplan was fine

I know I am in the minorty, but I didn't really have a problem with the gameplan. Truthfully, the players didn't execute it very well. You can't throw the ball all over the place pinned down on the road, with your quarterback making his second road start of his career. We have won many, many more games playing like we did yesterday. Contrast that philosphy with UGA who went on the road with a 3 year starter, threw the ball around and the game was over at the end of the 1st quarter. Les gives us a chance to win every game and that is his job. He wins 80% of his games with that formula.
Flame away...

so uhh...that's 6 games now where the gameplan was fine and players didn't execute.
at some point, that should have changed, no?

You cant Gameplan for our Defense to be on the field 75 play's .Offense has to maintain some drives plain and simple .

6 games huh? The execution was just fine through game 4 in case you forgot. Right until about the time we lost our All-American left tackle and starting running back. Maybe, just maybe, the "back-ups" aren't as good as the starters? Is that possible? Or is EVERYTHING Les Miles fault.

Against 2 SEC foes thus far this season, we have 18 points and 17 peenalties.
Take away Ford's 2 yd TD against Auburn, we don't have shite to show for offense in SEC play.
Having to kick a field goal when we have the ball at the 6 yd line on first and goal before half was brutal. The gameplan was not fine yesterday, nor has it been for quite some time.

Exactly.....the offense has to execute the gameplan.

Lot of fail in this one...
No, it was over at the end of the first quarter because USC's offense shredded them for two early scores and then ran a punt back for a TD.
Granted, USC absolutely stifled UGA's offense, but if you honestly believe the solution is to run straight at the Gamecock d-line like Miles likes to do then I have no hope for you.

We lost on the road in the Swamp to a top 10 team by one score. Yes, it really sucks, but maybe just maybe, our players aren't quite as good as we thought they were since we are now down 7 starters since August?

UGA - Not saying that, but didn't Murrary have a tipped ball INT that gave the ball back to USC right after they went up 7? That is my point. There is very litte fail in the post.

The gameplan is, quite often, to run into the teeth of the defense over and over again and hope it works THIS time.
A lot of times that works, because LSU often the talent differential to do it, but the coaches are way too slow to react when it isn't working. And the general variety on play-calling is just abysmal. I don't think we run more than a dozen plays.

Hmm good point. I'll be sure to send the following memo to Les:
les, don't throw whatsoever. The ball might get tipped at the LOS and get intercepted.

The Towson game was all too telling for this team. Regardless of who is hurt or not on the field, our 4th string players should push Towson around the field. There is not much want out there for whatever reason.

Any gameplan that doesn't force the defense to defend 1/3 of the field is not fine. I liked that we started to use the tight end across the middle a little bit but we have to start attacking this area more and force the defense to defend it. This will open everything less up

It would've been nice to have 1/2 the sacks back, 1/2 the incompletes and possibly made 1st downs with those plays so if nothing else the D rests.
I think LSU will have to run 3 step quick hitters to be effective.

It's not so much that there is fail in you post. It's just the fact that this crappy offense is going on five years straight. Fans are fed up.

You're late. There was a similarly bad thread started earlier by another guy who at least showed stats to try and back up his ridiculous claim.

They need to work on 3 and long situations more because we saw plenty of these the last few games.

This was part of the plan last year when we could keep some continuity on drives and wear the other team out. What happened to us yesterday is what LSU has done to their opponents. Problem is that does not work when you 3 and out routinely so you have to try something else.
I do agree with one thing and that is LSU's starting line from beginning of the season executes that gameplan with a decent 4-5 ypc avg and the game is flipped. But when you dont have that you have to do something else.
