If the curfew isn't lifted today, it very well could get moved up to 2ish.

It's not just where Ike hits, the logistics of putting the game on here, with all the traffic issues...as of this morning 40% of the traffic lites are still not working..but also the demands placed on the area police depts would be a push now as well. Traffic is nitemare.
This is irrelevant. All of the surface streets near campus are directed by police, traffic lights don't matter. As for the local police, there will be plenty available for the game in my opinion, the rest of BR will be a ghost town. Traffic is a nightmare? When, before or after an LSU game, is traffic NOT a nightmare. Want to avoid the traffic? Don't come to the game. I swear this country is becoming more and more pussified. I guess next we will start playing games in the Dome when the chance of rain is above 30% on Gameday.

The curfew will conveniently get lifted for Friday night (highschool football games).

just got an e-mail from the vet school with the schedule for the week and it lists the game at 4, don't know if it was just a typo, but...

If they move the game up to 4pm, that will suck.

No offense to the guy who posted the e-mail info, I know he was just reporting what a dept. at LSU sent him, but I'll wait for word from the athletic dept, not the vet school.

I wouldn't put a ton of faith in this. They aren't even called North Texas State anymore....just North Texas.

i know, i just thought it was interesting that the game has been scheduled for 7 for a long time and then they change the library hours to close an hour before kickoff like they usually do and say game time at 4... this was the official LSU Vet School Weekly Bullitein they send out, so i was just passing on info that i've gotten... I'm definitely not making any plans based on this yet

Come on Alleva....don't do it. What would be the reason for moving it up 3 hours?

curfew maybe, thats all i could think (if this is true, might just be a screwup from the public relations office at the Vet School)

Maybe as a precaution for North Texas to get back sooner?

Ike is supposed to make landfall early Saturday morning, so 3 hours isn't going to make enough of a difference. Besides, UNT is located in Denton, which is in the extreme northern part of the state....above Dallas.

A buddy at LSU just called me and I was telling him about this post and he said 4:00 is when the gates would open for a 6:00 kickoff.

depends if the curfew is still going on to determine the game time
