How?
Is this after refunding tickets? Or is some ad revenue contingent upon a game being played?
The concessions sold out. The tickets were purchased.
edit: didn't see the link

Come on Buga, you couldn't even link the original New Orleans Advocate story?

Is this like how the film-tax credits "cost" LA so many millions of dollars?
Why is falling short of projected income all of a sudden considered the same as losing money that was already in hand?

And the Advocate story didn't use Dildeaux as a source.

Literally the only thing they are missing out on is ticket revenue which the AD decided to refund. People still showed up paid for parking and bought concessions. Probably stuck around as long or longer than if the game was played and was a blow out so no net loss on concessions. We would have paid McNeese regardless. The only thing is ticket refunds.

Am I to believe LSU did not have a similar policy?
With Joltin Joe Alleva....probably not.

Did they lose some of the TV money?

$25 or $35 means a hell of a lot less to me than $3.2 million or whatever to MY university. Please keep the money.
Your feelings on the matter?
By the way, $30 x 100000 fans = $3 million.

Thats all part of the larger SEC contract at least as far as I understand. Its not like the old days where it would have been TigerVision PPV.

At $25* each for 92K is $2.3M. Won't break the AD, but it isn't an insignificant amount.
*I have no idea the average ticket price for all the tickets sold by LSU, but that seems reasonable.

I'm going to assume they have a similar insurance policy to cover much of this and the rest can be chalked up as a nice PR gesture hence the "its the right thing to do!"
