Should have been Laird, but whatever. We win tomorrow and it's not the end of the world.

Like I said earlier though, with A&M and Vandy losing, it would have been nice to get that game.

Our approach at the plate was awful.

It was really no different than any other game though. It will be fine most of the time, but guys that can really locate are going to give us more trouble than what they should even if their stuff isn't as good.

People talk about the low number of strikeouts and that's great and all, but when you probably see less than 4 pitches per at bat on average you aren't going to strike out much.

Yep, tonight showed where our weakness is with our hitting approach.

I think tonight was more about Thompson's inch perfect locations opposed to our weakness in hitting

No doubt, but when you face a stud like him, working counts is one of the only ways to get around him. Get to that bullpen, or at least tire him to the point where we could hit him.

He was throwing strikes with a plus fastball and change up, hard to work counts when that's going on.

Of course, but the first pitch swings on breaking pitches was irritating. Its one thing if he drills a fastball in there. But a first pitch breaking ball? Just not good, especially when trailing.

Its not a huge deal, because we can hit most pitching we will see, but every once in a while, we will run into a Keegan Thompson.

Go read Dandy Don. Laird was running a fever last night and was sent home to rest up for today.
